My Kitchen Rules champion Simone Prest has been quite busy over the past 12 months. Not only did he win the reality show’s fourteenth season alongside his best friend Viviana Barile, but he also opened a new restaurant in Brisbane and announced that his partner is pregnant with their first child.

With the new year fast approaching, Simone took to social media on Monday evening to share his exciting plans for 2025. The Italian-born reality star announced that his restaurant Doughcraft, which opened as a French bakery in February, will be launching a brand new menu next year.

“The heart of Italy is coming to your plate. Eduardo [Bianchini] and Simone Prest are bringing fresh new flavours, inspired by home, tradition, and a little twist that’ll make Nonna proud,” he posted on Instagram. “The new menu is almost here – stay tuned for what’s next at Doughcraft! Launching soon – come taste the passion!”

Simone tells Yahoo Lifestyle that he is “very excited” to be launching the new menu at Doughcraft on January 6 and also has plans to update the menu at his second restaurant Scugnizzi next year.

“But the most exciting news is that I’ll be heading to Europe in a few days for the birth of my son, which we’re expecting at the beginning of January,” he reveals. “It’s such a special time, and I can’t wait to meet him.

“I’ll be staying in Europe for about a month, then returning to Australia with my family. I’m also hoping to bring my dad back with us, as we’re currently working on his visa. Fingers crossed everything goes as planned wish us luck!”

Simone’s followers have since taken to the comments of his recent post to express their excitement over the new menu, with Viviana writing: “Mamma miaaaaaaaa!!!!! What a great way to start the year.”

“That looks so yummy,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Cannot wait”.

“Open up in Melbourne… please,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who replied, “Open up in Perth”.

The new menu comes shortly after Simone announced last month that Doughcraft had added some of his MKR dishes to the menu.

“Starting today, you can indulge in the My Kitchen Rules special menu right here in Brisbane!” the restaurant’s Instagram account shared. “Featuring the cappellacci fagioli e cozze, a dish that wowed the judges with its delicate hand-folded pasta filled with creamy white bean puree, mussels, and buttery beurre blanc.

“And that’s not all—Simone’s lobster taco guanciale and the heavenly Paris-Brest dessert are also here to steal the show.”

Simone recently told Yahoo Lifestyle that while he and Viviana don’t have any plans to open a restaurant together, they are hoping to launch their own cooking show in the future.

“That would be something we would consider because when we cook, if there is no pressure behind us, we can be very funny and we can play around and we can create very good dishes,” he detailed. “So that would be something we would really consider, and hopefully we will be given the chance to do it.”

Viviana added that her ideal show with Simone would be one where they get to travel around the world together.

“I would love to do something that involves travelling, like Simone and I going around, trying different foods and learning from other cultures,” she said. “We show our culture to them, and they show us theirs. I would love something like that.”

“We will find the right format for us and hopefully someone will make it happen,” Simone remarked.
