Throughout this year’s season of My Kitchen Rules, fans have demanded that Simone and Viviana either open a restaurant together or star in their own cooking series. The ‘Modern Italians’, who made MKR history when their Instant Restaurant received the highest score of all time, have become one of the show’s most popular teams thanks to their adorable friendship and overwhelming positivity.

Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle ahead of Tuesday night’s grand finale, Simone admits he and Viviana don’t have any plans to open a restaurant together - likely because he already owns two food businesses in Brisbane. However, he reveals they are hoping to launch their own cooking show.

“That would be something we would consider because when we cook, if there is no pressure behind us, we can be very funny and we can play around and we can create very good dishes,” he details. “So that would be something we would really consider, and hopefully we will be given the chance to do it.”

Viviana adds that her ideal show with Simone would be one where they get to travel around the world together.

“I would love to do something that involves travelling, like Simone and I going around, trying different foods and learning from other cultures,” she says. “We show our culture to them, and they show us theirs. I would love something like that.”

“We will find the right format for us and hopefully someone will make it happen,” Simone remarks.

They’ve been fan favourites since they hosted their first Instant Restaurant over two months ago, but the Italian-born duo admit they “honestly never expected” to receive such a positive reaction from viewers.

“We didn't know how Australia was gonna take us - the fact that we're Italian and we're not from this country. It was a bit scary at the beginning,” Viviana shares. “But honestly, Australians have made us feel so welcome and so loved, it feels like we’re back at home. Like, we are home.”

“The reaction we have from the public, we are extremely grateful for it,” Simone adds. “We love Australia, we love everybody, and we're happy to be here. We will remember this time that we had on MKR forever.”

Simone and Viviana are set to go head-to-head with mother-and-son duo Caz and Fergus in the MKR grand final on Tuesday night, with the winning team taking home the $100,000 prize money.

“I don't even have the right vocabulary to express how much of an honour it would be to win the title and the money. But mostly, being a champion and winning something - I've never won anything in my life,” Viviana reflects.

“We're gonna make Brisbane and Queensland and Italy proud of us, regardless if we win or not,” Simone shares. “We put our heart into this project and we won no matter what.”
