MKR's Viviana praised for 'raw' post after winning $100,000: 'Overwhelming'
Viviana has revealed what life is really like after winning the reality show.
My Kitchen Rules champion Viviana Barile has been praised on social media after she shared a video opening up about how busy her life has become since appearing on the reality show. The barbershop owner, who won this year’s season alongside her best friend Simone Prest, posted a highlight reel featuring moments from the past few months alongside a voiceover speaking to her mum about how she has “no time”.
“Hey, mum. Sorry, I have no time now. I need to move up in the world, I need to make money, I need to be pretty - yeah, I know I'm pretty, I mean more pretty,” she says in the clip. “I need to spend money at parties and be happy at least two nights per week. I need to go to the gym and I need to be healthy. I need to eat healthy. It's important they say, you know.
“No mum, I have no time for myself now, but it will come. I just need to stay strong a little longer. I just need to make this sacrifice. I can't think and take care of myself right now. I need to show them, mum, I need to show them who your daughter is. I have no time now. I have no time to think or to talk.”

The video, which has racked up over 30,000 views, ends with Viviana finally taking time out to call her mum for her birthday.
Viviana wrote in the caption that she hopes the post serves as a reminder to her followers that “happiness can be overwhelming too”.
“Take your time to rest, to breathe, to think and never forget those who stood by you from the very beginning, not just when things were going well,” she said.
She also tells Yahoo Lifestyle she is “still trying to figure it out how [she’s] feeling at the moment”, adding: “I can say that it is a massive mix of emotions and a lot of anxiety.”
'Authenticity is beautiful'
Viviana’s post has been flooded with supportive comments from her followers who admitted it’s “refreshing” seeing a public figure speak about the downside of ‘hustle culture’.
“Omg I love this, thank you for being raw,” one person wrote, while another added, “This is beautiful, authenticity is beautiful”.
“It takes time to absorb all the changes you are experiencing! Congrats on all your accomplishments big and small. Take it easy, one step at a time and look after yourself,” a third shared.
“Viviana you are beautiful and you are enough! Just the way you are, just be you! You have the most beautiful soul and personality you’ve got this,” someone else replied, followed by a different user who said, “Just remember you are enough. I struggle with this myself too but you are!”.
“This is sad and beautiful at the same time,” another remarked, with one fan admitting the post made them cry.
How will Simone and Viviana spend their prize money?
After walking away from this year’s season of MKR with the $100,000 grand prize, Simone told Yahoo Lifestyle he plans on putting his half of the cash towards raising his son. The restaurateur announced at the beginning of the grand finale that he and his partner Victoria are expecting their first child together.
“I will use it towards, obviously, my son that is on the way and I will use it to get the visa to get my father to Australia,” he detailed.

Meanwhile, Viviana said she wants to use her winnings to buy property in Australia after moving from Italy.
“For me, to be honest, I would love to use the money to put down a deposit for an apartment. I would love a two-bedroom apartment in the area where I live, it would absolutely be my dream,” she remarked.
