MKR fans think they've worked out which team will win 2024 finale: 'Rigged'

This year’s season of My Kitchen Rules has almost come to an end, with four teams left to battle it out for the $100,000 prize money. ‘Mother and Son’ Caz and Fergus and ‘Kitchen Queens’ Janey and Maddie will go head to head in the first semi-final on Sunday night, followed by ‘Modern Italians’ Simone and Viviana and ‘Fussy Friends’ Mike and Pete on Monday night.

The champions in each semi-final round will then face off in Tuesday night’s epic grand finale where judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge will crown a winner for 2024.

Before finale week kicks off, viewers have revealed who they think should win the reality show’s fourteenth season. A whopping 86% of Yahoo Lifestyle’s readers are hoping Simone and Viviana take out the title, according to results from our season-long poll.

'Simone and Viviana or it's rigged'

Fans have echoed this sentiment across social media and shared that they not only want the Italian-born friends to win MKR but also to open a restaurant together and have their own cooking show.

“I would love to see Simone and Viviana win! They are something very special and are genuinely the most talented cooks,” one person wrote.

“I'm hoping the Italians win, they seem like beautiful people,” another added, while a third said, “If Viviana and Simone lose there will be a lot of upset people, including me!”.

“Go Sim and Viv! Been the most consistent and fair!” a different user replied, followed by someone else who declared, “Simone and Viviana or it's rigged”.

Plenty of people also said they hope Caz and Fergus win as they “actually cook with technique and put effort in their cooking”.

“I wouldn't be surprised if mum and son take it out, but it's gonna be so tight,” one fan shared.

Simone and Viviana shut down major fan theory

As this year’s season of MKR progresses and Simone and Viviana continue to show off their skills in the kitchen, many viewers have questioned their relationship status. Despite saying they have a brother-sister dynamic in their first Instant Restaurant, some people have assumed the duo are actually dating.

“Are we all sure the young Italians aren’t a couple?” one fan wrote in a popular Facebook group, while another added, “I thought he was married to Viviana?”.

“I honestly thought our beautiful Modern Italians were a couple, still think they are,” a third remarked.

Following weeks of speculation, the pair confirmed on the show last week that they aren’t dating when he revealed he has a girlfriend. The duo reunited with their loved ones in Brisbane ahead of their Ultimate Instant Restaurant where Simone shared a passionate kiss with a woman named Victoria.

“It was very nice to see all of our friends and Victoria, my partner. Very happy,” Simone said in his piece-to-camera interview, while Viviana added, “It was so good!”.

It’s unknown exactly how long Simone and Victoria have been dating, although he shared a loved-up post on Instagram in April alongside the caption: “Must be a dream….Wake me up!”
