Kim Kardashian Goes Backless in Leather Balmain Gown at Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala

Kim Kardashian put on a sultry display at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala on Saturday in Los Angeles. The Skims founder selected a backless Balmain gown, which featured a halter neckline, chainmail panels and reptilian embossing.

Kardashian accessorized with a miniature metallic purse, completing her look with sharp burgundy nails. Stylist Dani Levi dressed her for the occasion.

The reality star wore her dark tresses in a sleek bob, while her makeup consisted of brown eyeshadow, pink blush and a nude lip.

Fashion designer Aurora James’ Fifteen Percent Pledge was founded in 2020 following the murder of George Floyd, asking companies to reflect the Black community by dedicating 15 percent of their shelf space to Black-owned brands.

Nearly $500,000 in grants were given to Black-owned small businesses at the soirée, including a new $100,000 Sephora beauty grant, in addition to three Google-sponsored grants.

“In light of recent attacks on DEI, and as we go into an election year, it’s really important to remind people that this isn’t a political agenda, it’s about creating actual opportunity for small American-owned businesses,” James told WWD.

In November, Kardashian attended the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala wearing a piece of Princess Diana’s jewelry. She paired her plunging white gown with the Attallah Cross, an antique amethyst pendant that was famously worn by the late royal at a 1987 charity gala.

Kardashian purchased the Attallah Cross at a Sotheby’s auction in 2023. Named for its previous owner, Naim Attallah, former group chief executive of Asprey & Garrard, the Palestinian-British businessman lent the amethyst and diamond piece to Diana throughout the 1980s. She notably wore it on a string of pearls at the 1987 Birthright charity gala, where she paired the pendant with a purple velvet Catherine Walker gown.
