MAFS favourite marries new man after quitting influencer career

Married At First Sight’s Aleks Markovic married long-term partner Nik Stojan in Sydney on Saturday, eight months after announcing their engagement.

Aleks, who found fame on season seven of the show in 2020 alongside match Ivan Sarakula, said I Do at the Serbian Orthodox Church St Sava in Ingleside and held the reception at the iconic Curzon Hall in Marsfield. Interestingly, Curzon Hall gave a subtle nod to Aleks’ time on Married At First Sight as it’s where her co-star Elizabeth Sobinoff filmed her TV wedding to Seb Guilhaus and is a venue favoured by the Channel Nine show.

In a wedding that looked like something out of the pages of the Royals, the bride wore a stunning custom design from Sydney designer George Habibeh couture, with the reception looking to be an extravagant affair with smoke machines, fireworks, and dancing all night long.

Although the day was washed out with torrential rain, one guest tells Yahoo Lifestyle that didn’t dampen the celebrations with Aleks feeling “like a Disney Princess in a castle” as she arrived at Curzon Hall.

After appearing on Married At First Sight, Aleks moved from Peth to Sydney to be with partner Ivan and launched her own beauty brand, Aleks Beauty. Since then, Aleks has shied away from the public eye to pursue a new career in finance instead.

Aleks and Ivan broke up shortly after the 2020 reunion episode was filmed, with Aleks revealing they had ended things in February of that year after dating post-experiment.

"Ivan and I dated until February when the relationship ended. Our values, wants, needs and lifestyles didn't align, and that's ok. I wish him nothing but the best," she captioned. "Please respect my privacy on the matter as just like anyone out in the 'real' world, some relationships just don't work out.

"My MAFS journey was one that I will never forget. I learnt so much about myself and what I truly want and need for myself and in a partner. I do not doubt that my soulmate is out there somewhere."

And as it turns out, her soulmate definitely was out there. Aleks announced her engagement to businessman Nik in October 2023, with the caption, "Mrs S to be. And in every lifetime, it will always be you!"
