MAFS fans make demand after Katie Johnston's doomed marriage to Tim Gromie: 'Screwed up'
MAFS fans are ready for Katie Johnston to return to the show with a new groom.
After not hearing from 'husband' Tim Gromie since the first dinner party, MAFS star Katie Johnston decided she would still attend the commitment ceremony in the hopes he would show up and be held accountable for his behaviour towards her since the wedding. Tim famously rejected Katie after their wedding, even physically recoiling from her when she tried to hug him.
Tim confessed to producers on their wedding day that his preference is "petite blondes" and that he felt "no spark" or attraction to Katie. He made no effort to get to know her despite her many attempts to find out more about him but claimed at the dinner party it was him putting in all the effort, not Katie.
Now, MAFS fans have told Yahoo Lifestyle that they want a major change to be made to the show.
Katie says she had 'no communication' with Tim after dinner party
During Sunday night's episode, Katie and Tim decided to leave the show, but not before a little drama, of course.
"Since the dinner party, I have not heard from Tim at all," Katie said before the commitment ceremony. "There's no communication, there's no effort, I'd hoped at the very least for Tim to make an attempt to build a friendship and respect. But there's been none of that."
"At the end of the day, the truth is that I deserve somebody a thousand times better."
While relationship expert John Aiken began welcoming the group for their first commitment ceremony, Tim waltzed in.
"The gall this man has to come waltzing on in, when he didn't even move in," Jamie tells the cameras.
Katie revealed to the experts that on their wedding night, Tim told her that he felt "no spark" and that she should decide whether or not they bother going on the honeymoon or not.
"It's clear that he didn't get what he ordered, and he's been running back to Melbourne ever since," Katie said.
Katie told the experts that Tim told her that he wanted someone blonde or brunette, petite, short and quiet.

"He also verified that on the honeymoon, and, you know, that's not me, I'm not any of that," she added. "That's not me, I'm not any of that, and I'm OK with who I am, I like who I am. But you don't want to focus on anything good I have, you're just focusing on what I don't have. So, gosh, where does that leave us."
When asked by the experts if she heard from Tim, she confirmed that she never heard from him, admitting that she didn't think they'd move in together, but hoped for some form of communication.
Tim blames Katie for refusing to speak to him
Tim claimed that he told Katie that he didn't feel a spark, but he said he wanted to get to know her as friends, saying that she refused to speak to him.
After the honeymoon, Tim says, "I never heard from Katie again," before admitting he also didn't reach out.
"When you feel like someone's not there for you, like, that's not a partner I want," Tim added.
When John asked him why he bothered coming back for the commitment ceremony, he said, "I was hopeful," but couldn't say what he was hopeful about.
"I wanted somebody to get to know me and that didn't happen," he said. "I came into the dinner party and Katie didn't even look at me, didn't see if I was OK. I was upset."
MAFS expert John Aiken calls Tim out for 'gaslighting'
John hit back that his behaviour at the dinner party was "gaslighting 101", saying, "You deflected, you blamed her for everything. You said she broke your trust. You said that you were the most honest out of the two of you. And ultimately, you made her feel like she was going crazy.
"The thing that broke my heart completely – was hearing Katie go on to blame herself for the downfall of the relationship."
John told him that the commitment ceremony was an opportunity for Tim to say "I'm going to do better".
They then went to the decision, and it was no surprise that Katie wrote 'leave', as did Tim.
MAFS fans' major request of producers
After it was revealed that Eliot Donavan and Lauren Hall will return to the show with new partners, many fans are begging for Katie to get the same second chance.
Almost three thousand Yahoo Lifestyle readers weighed in on the idea of the bride returning, with one saying, "Absolutely! She was stitched up hard with this narcissist."
"Give her this season off. Let her build her confidence and resilience," another suggested. "Bring her back next year for a redo. She in no frame of mind right now."
"Yes she does deserve a second chance!" a third said. "It's not fair that she misses out just because of that rotter Tim that she married. She's a sweet young woman who deserves to find happiness!"
"If they are bringing Lauren and Eliot back with new partners then Katie should also have a second chance," someone else said.

"Yes definitely she deserves another husband, she is a gorgeous young woman and is there for all the right reasons," one viewer said.
"Yes and set up with someone who is her perfect match as she is one of the genuine ones," someone else added.
