Meghan Markle Embraces Minimalism in a New Way with Asymmetrical A.L.C. Dress at Invictus Games 2025 Reception
Meghan Markle has made minimalism her signature and she did so in a new way last night at the family and friends reception for the Invictus Games 2025 in Vancouver. She embraced asymmetrical fashion for the occasion.
Markle took the stage at the event while wearing A.L.C.‘s Willow dress to introduce her husband Prince Harry, who founded the sporting tournament for wounded, injured, or sick veterans and military personnel in 2014. The Duchess of Sussex styled her sleeveless midi dress, which features asymmetrical tunic top with a pleated skirt, with layered gold bracelets including Cartier’s Love bracelet, a Cartier gold tank watch, and a pair of pointed-toe pumps.

Markle revealed that her speech was spontaneous, telling the crowd, “I was not planning on speaking tonight. We just arrived a couple of hours ago and I touched Canadian soil and I went, ‘feels like home.'”
She went on to say how “thrilled” she and Prince Harry are to attend the Invictus Games and how special they are to her husband, sharing a familial anecdote. “With families…the big rush in the morning and getting ready for school and packing the lunchboxes and making breakfast and my husband is in all of that with all of us,” Markle said. “And then he’ll be on his phone, and Archie will be like, ‘Papa, why are you on your phone?’ and he says, ‘Because it’s Invictus, I’m getting ready for Invictus.'”

“I need you to know that, how much it means to him and how much each of you mean to him,” she added. “It is my entire pleasure and complete honor to introduce to the stage my husband, the father of our very sweet, excited children who are cheering you on from California, Prince Harry, founder of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex.”
Markle has not only worn A.L.C. before, she wrote about the Los Angeles-based brand founded by Andrea Lieberman back in 2014, the year Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games. At the time, Markle shared her love of A.L.C. on her blog The Tig in her series “Anatomy of Design.” Her post also included a photo of her wearing the Olive jumpsuit by A.L.C., which featured a cutout at the back, from the brand’s pre-fall 2014 collection.
