'Love Is Blind's Taylor and Garrett Share Reason Why 24-Hour Cameras on Show Would Never Work (Exclusive)
Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans are reflecting on their experience on Love Is Blind ahead of the premiere of Season 8 of the Netflix series.
Taylor, 30, and Garrett, 33, chatted exclusively with Parade about their time on the show—including why they think having 24-hour camera surveillance would be detrimental to the relationship-building process—while promoting their partnership with International Delight ahead of Valentine's Day.
"I think that's called Big Brother," Taylor joked before Garrett shared his thoughts on the matter.
"I'm sure the viewers [who] enjoyed the drama and the chaos would prefer that and probably enjoy it more," Garrett added. "But, my guess would be you'd have less successful relationships because it just creates another layer of stress. I know Taylor and I really cherished and utilized [and] leveraged those moments of intimacy and privacy to help us get through this and understand one another better."
He continued, "I don't think you can really know what someone's really feeling and thinking until that layer of like, camera 'big brother' is gone and you're able to talk and connect one-on-one, [and] really have serious intent conversations. I think there's always a risk with the camera up that someone is acting."
Taylor went on to tell Parade that having cameras on 24/7 would not be fair not only to the couples, but to other people in their lives as well.
"I think it's really important as a couple about to get married to talk about things like family trauma or other lived experiences that are not necessarily your story to tell," she said. "And to do that on camera, I wasn't comfortable doing it."
The couple, who are celebrating their second Valentine's Day together and plan to exchange "sweet" love letters, also opened up to Parade about why they were excited to partner with International Delight to celebrate the launch of their limited edition Love Is Blind creamers and iced coffee, where they will give single fans the chance to find their flavor match through The Blind Coffee Date Delivery Contest.
International Delight will give one winner and their prospective match the ultimate Love Is Blind experience, in which they will partake in a once-in-a-lifetime dating experience inspired by the blind dates on the show. Taylor and Garrett will help play matchmaker.
"We're very grateful for that opportunity," Garrett told Parade. "Obviously, [the show] brought us together and it gave us that chance that would have never happened otherwise. And I think that this is like kind of all of that in a bit of a microcosm. I would jump at the opportunity knowing what I know now."
Fans have until March 17 and can find out how to enter the contest by clicking here.
Episodes 1 through 6 of Love Is Blind Season 8 premieres on Netflix on Friday, Feb. 14, with new episodes hitting the streaming service every week until the March 7 finale.
