The pair finalized their divorce on Monday, Jan. 6, 20 weeks after Lopez filed for a dissolution of marriage in August 2024

The former couple settled their divorce on Monday, Jan. 6, nearly 20 weeks after the singer and Unstoppable actress filed for a dissolution of marriage on Aug. 20, 2024.
And as a source tells PEOPLE now of Lopez, 55, "The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end."
"She's in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter," they add.

"He enjoys working," said the source of Affleck, who was filming the upcoming movie RIP with pal Matt Damon at the time. "He seems to be in a good place."
Affleck, 52, and Lopez — who rekindled their romance in 2021, after previously being engaged in the early 2000s — married in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022. They later celebrated their union with a ceremony in Georgia in front of friends and family on Aug. 20, 2022.
Lopez filed for divorce exactly two years after their Georgia ceremony, listing April 26, 2024, as their date of separation and citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The Atlas star filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court without a lawyer, requesting no spousal support for either party and for attorneys' fees to be split.
She also requested that her former name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez, be restored.

And while the former couple spent some time together over the weekend after seeing each other during the holidays, a source told PEOPLE on Monday ahead of their divorce-settlement news that they "are not getting back together."
On Sunday, Jan. 5, Lopez dropped by Affleck's home in Los Angeles. Lopez was accompanied by her child Emme, 16, while Affleck's 12-year-old son Samuel was also present.
"The kids love spending time together. Ben and Jennifer always do everything for the kids to be happy," the source said. "The kids don't drive, so Ben and Jennifer will continue to facilitate meetups. They are not getting back together. Ben was with his kids for Christmas and Jennifer with hers. They all had a great holiday break."
Affleck and Lopez were last seen together with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner on Dec. 13, 2024, when they attended a play featuring Affleck and Garner's middle child Seraphina, 15, as well as Emme.
