Is The Block on this Sunday or cancelled due to 2024 NRL Grand Final?
The popular reality show has an updated schedule this week.
This year’s season of The Block has featured some of the most dramatic moments in the history of the reality show, including one contestant welcoming their first child in week one, a team quitting the competition midway through filming, and multiple tradies walking off the site. While viewers have grown accustomed to tuning into the reality series four nights a week, Scott Cam made a surprising announcement at the end of Wednesday night’s episode.
The beloved tradie-turned-TV host told viewers that the upcoming living and dining room reveal won’t be happening at its usual time slot on Sunday night. This sent fans into a tizzy on social media, with many people questioning when the next episode will air.
“Is The Block on this Sunday night?” one person asked in a popular Facebook group, while another wrote, “Is room reveal on Sunday?”.

Is The Block on this Sunday night?
Due to the NRL Grand Final on Sunday night, Channel Nine will air the highly-anticipated living and dining room reveal at 7:30pm on Monday night.
This means that the entire week’s schedule will be pushed back a day, so viewers can expect additional episodes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night.
Who will win The Block 2024?
With season 20 recently hitting the halfway mark, viewers have begun to speculate as to which team will win the entire competition. Yahoo Lifestyle’s readers have predicted that House 1’s Maddy and Charlotte will receive the most profit at auction, with 72 per cent of people voting for the sisters in a recent poll.
House 5’s Kristian and Mimi received 13 per cent of the vote, followed by House 2’s Courtney and Grant on 6 per cent, House 3’s Ricky and Haydn on 5 per cent, and House 4’s Kylie and Brad on 4 per cent.
Fans have also shared their thoughts on Reddit, with many people placing their bets on Kristian and Mimi and Courtney and Grant.
“I would put money on Kristian and Mimi or Courtney and Grant. They have the most well-rounded houses,” one person wrote, while another said, “I was thinking maybe K and M since their house is two-storey and a bit different to the others”.
“Courtney & Grant. It just feels more high-end to me than the rest so far,” someone else shared, followed by a different user who agreed, “Courtney & Grant, execution looks the best. They have a nice theme going on. I really think Mediterranean will do really well as a vacation home”.
Major theory about 2024 auction
A source close to the reality show told Yahoo Lifestyle last month that it’s very likely serial Block buyer Adrian Portelli will purchase all of the houses for the exact same price.
“The houses will all sell for the one price and the well-established Adrian Portelli wants them all,” our insider shared. “He will definitely be in attendance at the auction in Phillip Island, most likely in his Lamborghini.
“Adrian has been very vocal during discussions with the producers and has also told his close friends he will be buying the entire resort for his LMCT+ website for up to $15 million. It will be the noisiest sale in Block history and that’s perfect for his business model.”

The billionaire entrepreneur first made an appearance on The Block in 2022 when he bid on Omar and Oz’s house and went on to purchase three properties last year, including winners Steph and Gian’s for a whopping $5 million. If he was to buy all five properties this year, it would mark the first time in the show’s 21-year history that a single buyer has done so.
