A royal expert has pointed out a hidden detail in Prince Harry's recent statement about seeing his father, King Charles, during his recent London visit, which is believed to say a lot about his relationship with his brother, Prince William.

Royal historian and author Gareth Russell spoke to The Sun's Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson on their Royal Exclusive show and referenced Harry's statement, which read: "In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program.

"The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

Russell claims the fact Prince William isn't mentioned at all speaks volumes, saying, "That's really interesting. I think it's being picked up on that it almost was just taken as read that this time they wouldn't meet, which in itself, the silence tells its own story, doesn't it, that this time, no one expected the two of them to meet.

"We didn't have any leaks coming from either camp that there was going to be a potential meeting where the one wanted it and the one didn't, and that probably suggests that the rift is pretty firmly cemented by the stage."

It's believed that Harry and William haven't spoken since Queen Elizabeth's funeral in 2022.

It comes as Harry and William's close friend Hugh Grosvenor is set to marry his fiancée Olivia Henson on June 7 and Harry will not be in attendance, despite Hugh being Harry's son Prince Archie's godfather.

William will attend and has also been given the honour of being an usher on the day.

The Times reports that Hugh wanted both brothers present for his wedding but knew their high-profile rift would likely overshadow his and his future wife's big day.
