MAFS EXCLUSIVE: Katie set for even more heartbreak after groom rejects her
Warning: This article contains spoilers for episode two of this year's season of MAFS.
Things are set to go from bad to worse for Married At First Sight bride Katie Johnson after being rejected by her groom Tom Gromie after their wedding which aired on Tuesday. While Katie had high hopes for her MAFS groom, she soon felt iced out when he physically recoiled from her during their wedding day photoshoot.
While the excited bride told producers "it's all positive" after their wedding, Tim had other thoughts. After opening up to the experts about her insecurities, and explaining how an ex-boyfriend had previously body-shamed her, Katie was unaware that immediately after saying 'I do', Tim confessed to producers his preference is "petite, blondes" and that he felt "no spark" or attraction to Katie.

"I'm not really sure how to feel," he said, looking disappointed. "I just haven't got that initial spark, but she's lovely and so nice, yeah, she's a beautiful girl, but I just was surprised I didn't have that initial spark... but she's so lovely."
"Just a bit different to what I normally go for, but she's so lovely."

When he perhaps didn't realise he was still being recorded, he said, "What the f**k? It's just totally not what I wanted. Not good. I normally go just short, petite, blonde or brunette, like Katie's nothing what normally I'd go for. Just no attraction, there's nothing there and I can tell straight away."
"You don't even know her yet," a producer attempted to plead with him.
"I know, but if there's just nothing there, what do you do?" he said. "I'm shattered. As soon as I was up there, I was like 'F**k!' It's disappointing, yeah, I'm a bit embarrassed that I've come here now... I don't want to be here."
The producer tells him he hasn't even tried to get to know Katie, and he tells her, "I feel like I'm wasting my time, I just want to run away."
The episode ended with Katie in tears after Tim told her off-camera he wasn't attracted to her.
"Last night for me was horrible," Katie said. "He knocked on my door and wanted to chat, we sat down, and he said 'there's no spark, I wasn't feeling a spark all day'. To be rejected, that's my worst nightmare, I don't know what I've done wrong," Katie said, as she wiped away tears.

Yahoo Lifestyle has since obtained paparazzi pictures of Katie being comforted by producers and checking into a hotel with her new husband nowhere to be seen.
In the images, Katie looks emotional while being consoled by production and members of the crew.

When cast photos were released it quickly became obvious that Tim never attended the cast's official press day to take their promotional photos, with Nine being forced to use a lower-resolution snap from his wedding day, instead of a high-quality studio shot. The same thing happened to Jake, who was sick on the photoshoot day.
Tim refusing to take part in the photoshoot suggests there is more drama yet to come, as he likely wants no involvement with production.
