Bluey fans finally get the announcement they've been waiting years for: 'Best news ever'

Bluey fans worldwide are rejoicing today at the news they have been waiting years for. The Heeler family and their friends are set to make their debut in LEGO form later in 2025, sending viewers of the show (of both the kids and adult variety) into an absolute spin.

Six brand-new Bluey LEGO sets will be revealed in the next few months, before their release in June 2025, and will come in both the LEGO 4+ and LEGO DUPLO ranges. Michaela Edgerley Stovicek, head of preschool at the LEGO Group, said that the collaboration is a "match made in heaven" and parents and kids certainly agree.

Fans expressed their excitement by sharing the exciting news across various Facebook groups.

"I’m so excited! This comes out a month before my daughter’s birthday and she is obsessed with bluey. Perfect birthday gift," one happy parent wrote.

"My wallet just cried a little bit but my inner child is excited," another commented.

"Just another excuse for me to buy more Lego sets," another remarked.

"If they don’t have Muffin I will be so disappointed," was another reply.

"Well there goes that paycheck when these come out," another fan joked.

Fans were equally thrilled on Instagram, flooding the comments section of a post on the official Bluey account announcing the news.

"My daughter has been asking for 2 years for bluey lego and we have had to tell her there is no such thing. She kept saying um yes there is! Now there will be 😍," one parent wrote.

"Best News Ever!!!! My favourite toy and show combining together 💙," another said.

"This has got to be the most anticipated Lego line to ever exist! The hype is realllll!," a third said,

"Omg this is what my son asked for for Christmas!!! Looks like he’s getting this for Valentine’s Day!!! 💙🧡," yet another wrote.

Bluey movie coming in 2027

The news comes not long after it was announced that a Bluey movie is in the works and is set to be released in 2027.

The movie will be written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, and continue to follow the adventures of the Heeler family. The exciting news was announced in late 2024 on the official Bluey Instagram account, immediately sending fans into overdrive.

The film will star the vocals of Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Bluey’s mum and dad, Chilli and Bandit Heeler, and music created by composer Joff Bush.

Creator Joe Brumm explained that he always thought Bluey deserved a feature-length film.

"I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that. I’ve always thought ’Bluey’ deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together," he said in a press release.

Brumm will step away from working on the animated series to focus on the film, with a release date for the show's fourth season yet to be announced.
