Aussie TV host unrecognisable in 'awkward' throwback photo: 'Me at 16'

Aussie star Erin Molan has uploaded a hilariously relatable throwback photo, giving her Instagram followers an insight into her life at sweet 16. The TV host recently shared that she had been asked by a group of young girls to take their photo, and was shocked to find out they were only 16, saying they looked like 'Victoria's Secret models'.

Uploading a photo of herself looking a little disgruntled and scowling at the camera with a giant backpack on, Erin captioned the photo: "A group of girls asked me for a photo a couple of nights ago… all dressed up to the nines and looking like Victoria Secret models or whatever the modern day equivalent is… 🤷‍♀️ I asked them how old they were. They said 16."

Erin went on to say she told the girls that she didn't look like them at 16, before they asked to see a photo, with Erin saying she had to ask her mum to send one through.

"I told them I didn’t look like that at 16. They asked to see a photo. I had to get mum to send so I told them I’d post it later. Here it is ladies. Me at 16. #hot #demure #class," Erin said.

People react to Erin's 'awkward' teen photo

Fans reacted to the Sky News host's throwback teen pic, finding it all very relatable.

"It’s not fair that 16 year olds in this day and age missed the awkward stage we all went through!" one person said. "You are brilliant! I love the realness of this!" another commented.

"That's def a 16yr old attitude right there," another person laughed.

Others found the throwback snap refreshing. "This is 16! Not like these days! Too much pressure, too many trying to be older than they are!" one person said. "You’re an adult a long time, be a kid as long as you can!"

"This should be 16. There is a real loss of innocence for teens now," someone else agreed. "I wish they didn’t look like models at 16. Society tells us we need to tho, in order to be valuable."

And one final comment, I couldn't agree with more. "I’d rather burn my school formal photos than compare them to the girls now."
