Meghan Markle and Princess Anne's Daughter, Zara Tindall, Have a Surprising Link

It seems Meghan Markle is still inextricably linked to royal family—and not because of her husband Prince Harry. Despite taking a step back from the royal family in 2020, Markle still shares some mutual friends with her royal in-laws.

One of Markle's closest gal pals was recently photographed with Prince Harry's cousin and Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall. In a snap shared by Valley Eye Wear, Markle's friend, Delfina Blaquier, posed alongside Tindall, as well as Aurora Figueras Blaquier and Nicole Slater. All four women wore sunglasses from the brand's new 2025 Volume Thirteen Collection, according to its Instagram caption.

The image was captured at the Women with Horsepower luncheon at the Star Gold Coast casino in Australia. For the event, Tindall wore floral printed belted button-up dress and heeled slides, while Blaquier wore a chic belted black one-shoulder dress.

The soirée is a part of the Star Gold Coast Magic Millions carnival that consists of "26 Magic Millions run or affiliate events, the atmosphere created by the Carnival is an unmistakably unique celebration of the Gold Coast region," according to the organization's website. Magic Millions is a horse auction and sales organization. As an Olympic equestrian, Zara is currently attending the festivities with her husband Mike Tindall.

Balquier is married to polo player, Nacho Figueras, so it makes sense that she and Zara have known each other for years, presumably through the equestrian community. Figueras is also a good friend of Prince Harry's, and according to Express, Markle and Balquier were introduced by their husbands and have since become close friends. The two friends were last photographed together at the 2024 Royal Salute Polo Challenge last April alongside their husbands.

During a 2022 interview with Hello!, Balquier opened up about her friendship with Markle and the duchess's strength. "She is so wonderful and strong. Stronger than she knows," she said. "I love being around my friends, and I will always support her."

The mutual friendship and unexpected link between Tindall and Markle may come as a surprise to royal fans, as it was recently revealed that Zara's husband Mike has become quite close with Prince William, Harry's estranged brother. A source told Woman's Day magazine, per Express, that Tindall and William have become like brothers. "Mike's become a key figure in William's world and someone he can always rely on," the insider said.
