Aussie influencer divides with sheer dress at wedding: 'Quite inappropriate'

Aussie model and influencer Olivia Molly Rogers has divided people online after posting a picture of a sheer dress she wore to a friend's wedding.

The image, which has nearly 7.5k likes didn't win over everyone, with Olivia, 32, showing off her floor-length off the shoulder sheer brown dress in a gallery of images, with people saying they loved the colour and style but weren't sold on the sheer look.

"A beautiful day celebrating two of the best humans," Olivia captioned the post, with many labelling the model as "stunning" and saying they loved the colour on her.

However, not everyone was won over, with others saying the sheer look took attention away from the bride and was more a party look than a formal wedding look.

"The dress to a party yes, but not a wedding, it’s about the bride not a guest.... I’m sure there would have been critics at the wedding [who] just wouldn’t have said anything, but each to their own... I’ve seen a couple of weddings where the guests have worn similar," one person said.

"I love the colour & style of the dress 😍 but quite shocked to see a naked dress worn to a wedding 😮would have opted for a slip above the knee under the dress or worn to a different event," another person added.

"I’m the same, I personally would have been OK if I was the bride, but I probably wouldn’t enjoy the backlash from my mother and the other family members, plus the media," someone else said. "Would have taken the focus off my special day and what it should be all about. A celebration of our love."

However, for every negative comment, there were also a lot of fans that loved the look. "This is stunning," one person said. "I love your dress," someone else commented. "Beautifully worn & beautifully styled!" another said.
