Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night, Abbie Chatfield was left infuriated by a situation that many of us have been in before. Sitting in her car, she began filming, saying, "Am I wrong in thinking people shouldn't beep you when you get in your car and you're not ready to go yet?

"I don't know, like I actually think that it's so f**king rude," she said. "I've gotten in my car after yoga and I feel really dizzy, so I got some guac and chips from Guzman y Gomez, and I'm sitting here trying to enjoy my chips, trying to get some sort of food into me before I start driving, because I'm shaking and I'm dizzy and I'm premenstrual and I feel really ill.

"I have an ear infection, I just need to eat something before I get on the road and this person, they just left, they were sitting there, beeping at me. So I paid for an hour and 27 minutes, alright? That ends in three minutes. I will sit here and eat my guac and chips."

"I don't have to move because you can't find a car park, I'm sorry that you're late. I'm sorry am I like – am I wrong?"

Abbie had written on the video, "AITA [am I the a**hole]???"

She added, "Parking in Bondi is expensive pls leave me alone!!!!!!!!!!!!! This person waited for like 6 minutes?????? (Still sitting here bc still dizzy)."

"Nah you’re right," Matt Agnew replied. "I stay in my car, or sometimes get out and take a walk. Let them eat wait."

"When you are breastfeeding your baby and they do this waiting for your spot 😭," one user said.

"I got beeped for taking too long to put my baby in the car 🫠, "another said.

"Pro tip for this is to get in the passenger side!" a third suggested. "Then it’s like well… I’m not driving?? For all they know you could be waiting for someone! People are so impatient these days…"

"Unless my reverse lights are on...Move on!" someone else added.

"Controversial POV here, 90% of people don’t do it to say hurry up, they do it to say, FYI I’m here," one person said. "And sometimes I’d hope the person in car park is considerate to see they’re in a spot with no other parks available, and will be sitting in their car, which means you could pull over and do what you need letting someone else get the park to leave their car, bc you’re in the car so can move if parking officer comes."

"I would literally rather die in that park than give it to someone who beeps at me," another said.

Many others said if someone beeped them, they'd simply make them wait longer, while others suggested Abbie could have just signaled to the other person that she wasn't leaving.

"So fine to take all the time you need but if you see me slowing to wait for your park as you go to get in the car please do me the favour of shaking your head or giving me a friendly signal to know you’re not leaving soon! I’ll be on my way!" one user said.

"Blows my mind when people see me stop and indicate and then get in the car when they know they have no intention of leaving! If you’re already in the car, different story. You don’t need to anything, people can figure it out."

One person said they'd have to leave immediately if they were beeped, "My anxiety could never 🤣🤣 I’m too much of a people pleaser."

"As a chronically ill person, I totally understand feeling unwell and finally making it back to your sanctuary (car) to collapse and rest and medicate, and plan your next move..." someone else added. "But on the same token, I'm unwell and can't wait forever for a park or park further away because of energy. So here's my suggestion: let people tell you what kind of day they're having: roll down your window to ask someone if it's chockas, otherwise they know whether they need to be sitting in their car or not. Buzz off and let people be."
