The 46-year-old Emilia Pérez star is nominated for best supporting actress at the awards ceremony — following a triumphant win for her acclaimed performance in the Netflix film at the 2025 Golden Globes last month.

The actress walked the red carpet at the Feb. 7 event in an open-back red silk Saint Laurent gown with matching heels. The dress was accented with a black bow in the back also that she matched with a black choker. She sparkled with additional diamond rings.

The look was a shift away from the dark brown strapless sequin Saint Laurent gown she wore on the carpet at the Golden Globes — which she paired with a matching cape and a stunning diamond necklace.

While still early in awards season, Saldaña has already had an emotional run. When the nominations for the Critics Choice Awards were announced, the Netflix film tied for the third most nominations with Dune: Part Two (10 each) — only behind Conclave and Wicked (each with 11). But the musical-thriller led the pack at the Golden Globes, both for nominations and wins — including Saldaña’s first ever prize at the awards ceremony.

“I'm filled with adrenaline, but my heart is full of gratitude," the Guardians of the Galaxy star told the The Beverly Hilton audience in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan. 5, following her win.

She also shouted out her family, adding, "I love you — you guys are everything."

After her big night, the actress took to Instagram to relish in her victory — jokingly saying she was going to snuggle with her award. "And this is how we're going to bed tonight," the actress captioned a photo lying in bed with her award and the Golden Globes envelope announcing her win.

In addition to her acting nod at the Critics Choice Awards, Saldaña is also nominated for her performance in the original song “El Mal” from the film alongside Karla Sofía Gascón and Camille.

However, in the wake of Gascón's past offensive comments, which were brought to light last month, Saldaña said it all made her feel "sad," according to Variety.

“I’m sad. Time and time again, that’s the word because that is the sentiment that has been living in my chest since everything happened,” Saldaña told Variety. “I’m also disappointed. I can’t speak for other people’s actions. All I can attest to is my experience, and never in a million years did I ever believe that we would be here.”

The outlet noted that Saldaña did not respond directly when asked whether she had spoken with Gascón in the seven days since journalist Sarah Hagi first shared screenshots of now-deleted posts on X from Gascón's past.

“I feel like I’ve spoken enough about it,” Saldaña said, adding that she is still processing the situation. “It’s not just something we have to figure out immediately.”
