Trombone Shorty — né Troy Andrews — is a four-time Grammy nominee who won his first award in 2022 for his work on Jon Baptiste’s “We Are” album. His horn-heavy work blends genres like rock, jazz, funk, hip hop and more. Christian singer-songwriter Daigle picked up two Grammys herself in 2019 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album (for “Look Up Child”) and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song (for “You Say”).
“America the Beautiful” has been a musical standard for more than a century and has inspired many memorable covers over the years. Elvis Presley used to perform the song at his 1970s concerts, and Ray Charles did a soulful cover timed to the 1976 American bicentennial that became a beloved classic. Last year’s Super Bowl performance of the song was delivered by Post Malone.
