Demi Moore Nods to ‘The Substance’ in Sheer ‘Eye’ Dress by Dior at Directors Guild Awards
Demi Moore put a cinematic spin on the sheer trend at the Directors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. The actress nodded to her latest film, “The Substance,” in a sheer Dior haute couture dress.
Moore’s sleeveless frock came from the French fashion house’s spring 2018 collection. Its eye embroidery referenced a symptom of the mysterious elixir Moore’s character takes in the film, which causes her pupils to multiply.

The Golden Globe winner accessorized with Messika jewelry, including earrings and a ring embellished with pear-shaped diamonds.
Moore was assisted by her longtime stylist, Brad Goreski, who also counts “Emily in Paris” star Ashley Park and Kaley Cuoco as clients.
Hairdresser Dimitris Giannetos styled Moore’s dark tresses straightened, while makeup artist Rokael Lizama gave her gradient eyeshadow and a stained pink lip.
On Tuesday, the actress wore a Schiaparelli gown while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Similar to a design from the label’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, the dress featured a gilded trompe-l’oeil tie detail. Gold lip- and ear-shaped earrings — also by Schiaparelli — and a pair of heeled leather booties completed her look.
Moore won her first Golden Globe for her role in Coralie Fargeat’s “The Substance.” She’s also been nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars, which take place in March.
“It doesn’t always unfold this way and so for me the most important thing is remembering not to make it mean too much, but also to remember to not make mean too little so I can just be in the joy,” Moore told host Jimmy Kimmel.
