The Voice fans notice surprising detail in season 13 trailer: 'New twist'
The new season of the singing competition features a fresh line-up of coaches and a rumoured format change.
Channel Seven has shared a brand new teaser trailer announcing that the upcoming thirteenth season of The Voice Australia will premiere next month. The new season, which has been described as “the most captivating season of The Voice to date”, will see longtime coach Guy Sebastian joined by newcomers LeAnn Rimes, Kate Miller-Heidke and Adam Lambert as they search for Australia’s next singing sensation.
The promo video features a mixed bag of hopeful contestants singing their hearts out on stage, with one duo wowing the audience with their performance of ‘Wonderful’ by Tones and I. The coaches are each shown looking shocked by the calibre of talent before they slam their red buttons to turn their iconic chairs around.
“You just ate that song alive,” Adam tells one contestant, followed by Guy, who says, “I’ve never seen anything like that”.
“You’ve got a gift,” Kate remarks.

Fans notice surprising detail
Following the trailer’s release, one fan took to the comments to point out what appears to be a “new twist” in season 13. In addition to three small buttons underneath the iconic red button, which are likely ‘Block’ buttons, there’s a large white button at the top of the panel.
“What’s that large button behind the red button?” they questioned.
The Voice often introduces new elements to the show every season, with the ‘Block’ power added in season nine and updated last year to be used before a coach even turns their chair. A ‘Battle Pass’ was also introduced in season 11, where coaches can press a silver button to send an artist straight to the battle rounds, although this was axed the following year.
'Can't wait to watch'
Viewers also flooded the comments with excitement over the new lineup of coaches, particularly Adam Lambert, who previously appeared on Australian TV as a judge on The X Factor in 2016.
“Good to see Adam being a judge again in Australia!” one person wrote, while another added, “Can't wait! Team Adam Lambert all the way”.
“This is going to be so good! Adam Lambert is such an insightful and supportive judge,” a third shared.
