The Voice 2024: Hidden detail in 'epic' new promo goes unnoticed

It seems social media users haven’t realised they can interact with the new trailer in a very unique way.

While fans have praised The Voice Australia’s new trailer for being “the best promo for a reality show” they’ve ever seen, it appears one of the most interesting details has gone largely unnoticed.

The cinematic teaser video, which was released on Sunday night, features Guy Sebastian putting together a team of superstar coaches for season 13 of the singing competition, beginning with LeAnn Rimes. The ‘Choir’ hitmaker is shown calling the country superstar with her phone number, 1800 177 894, on full display.

What fans haven’t yet realised is they can actually call LeAnn’s number to hear a custom voicemail message from her.

“Hi, this is LeAnn. Sorry I can't take your call right now, but I will take the crown soon on The Voice Australia on Seven and 7plus,” she says.

Fans can also call 1800 065 114 to hear a message from longtime coach Guy Sebastian ahead of the new season.

“Hey, this is Guy. Sorry I missed your call but you won't miss me on The Voice coming soon to Seven and 7plus,” he says.

The marketing campaign is very similar to the one Channel Seven launched in December around Home and Away’s season finale cliffhanger. After Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) set out on a search for his missing girlfriend Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo), viewers were encouraged to call 1800 066 816 to hear her last phone call.

The ‘Help Find Eden’ campaign, which also involved posters being shared on social media and on-air promos, attracted 28,244 calls to the emergency number in the first 24 hours, according to Mediaweek.

The Voice’s new promo has received enormous praise on social media, with one fan even suggesting that it be turned into a full-length film.

“CAN WE TURN THIS INTO A MOVIE!? The ad alone was EPIC!” they commented on Instagram, while another added, “What an ad!”.

“I’ve never watched The Voice AU before but this ad alone might make me. Marketing level expert. It’s giving BUDGET,” a third shared.

“Whoever came up with the concept of this ad killed it,” season six champion Judah Kelly wrote, while season eight finalist Jack Vidgen said, “Camp!”.

The upcoming season of The Voice Australia will feature LeAnn Rimes, Adam Lambert, Kate Miller-Heidke and returning coach Guy Sebastian sitting in the iconic red chairs as they search for Australia’s next singing sensation.
