Trigger warning: Infant loss

A month after the tragic death of their newborn daughter Billie, The Block stars Dani and Dan Reilly have posted a tribute to their baby girl, with Dani sharing five of her favourite moments from their short-lived time with Billie.

The couple, who competed on two seasons of The Block in 2012 and 2013, revealed on December 20 that Billie had passed away at just 10 days old, saying “It is with insurmountable grief that we share the news that our daughter Billie, has passed on from this life and into the next."

Dani has now taken to Instagram to provide an update on some of the events that transpired in their time with Billie, marking the four-week anniversary of her death.

In a moving post, Dani highlighted five of her favourite memories with Billie, saying she had both a full and broken heart at the same time.

"Today marks 4 weeks since our Billie girl came into our lives & everything changed. How is it possible to have both a full & broken heart at the same time?!" Dani said, before explaining a series of photos that had been taken in Billie's short time on earth.

"I’m going to share 5 of my favourite things or moments about Billie alongside some of our most cherished photos taken by @heartfelt_ausnz photographer Ken, of the day all our girls met," Dani captioned the post.

"The day that will always be known as 'Billie’s Day' was one of the best of our lives - When Billie Vera met Hazel Valentine & Olive June. All our girls together. Billie’s Day was rounded out with time in the sunshine listening to the birds, music, crafts, bathing, hair brushing, reading The Faraway Tree as a family, & truly precious cuddles we’ll remember forever," Dani said, showcasing numerous photos of baby Billie meeting the couple's dogs.

"I love her lil nose! I remember seeing her cute little button nose at my 20-week scan & I’ve not stopped talking about it since. I would trace my fingers over her nose & face as much as I could. I hope I’ll always be able to remember what that felt like. Perfection," Dani continued the post. "Waking up at midnight with her on my chest - something I had imagined doing everyday I was pregnant. Despite the machines & tubes, & how tricky it was to move her, the doctors & nurses aka Billie’s Besties, made it possible."

Dani also said her favourite moments with Billie included watching her husband Dan take to fatherhood, calling him "the best dad".

"My most favourite moments of all, were seeing @danreilly_official with her - the best dad! Watching him brush her hair, putting on her little body balm after bathing, reading to her (& me)… it was all magic."

She went on to thank the doctors and supporting staff at The Royal Women's Hospital.

"Again, I have to make special mention to everyone at NICU & @theroyalwomens for making so many special moments possible despite the logistics involved. Billie, we’ll love & celebrate you for an eternity & you’ll always be the sun ☀️."
