Just over a month after finishing second on this year’s season of The Block alongside her husband Grant, Courtney Freeman has shared an exciting announcement. The interior stylist and furniture designer has launched a brand new range of furniture and homewares through her business The Lazy Stylist called the Moditerranean Collection.

The collection, inspired by her signature 'modern Mediterranean' style showcased on the reality show, features a table lamp, vase, coasters and a selection of sculptures. Courtney tells Yahoo Lifestyle the collection is extremely personal to her as it’s not just furniture, but “a reflection of our journey on The Block”.

“Every piece has a story, named after the people and places that were part of this wild adventure. We’ve used materials like natural stone and timber that reflect the textures used in our Block home,” she details.

Courtney shares that her “absolute favourite” item in the collection is the Jules Vase, which she named after The Block’s executive producer and co-creator Julian Cress.

“He believed in us and gave us this incredible opportunity, so it felt right to honour him in the collection,” she adds.

After accidentally coining the term ‘Moditerranean’ in the first week of The Block, Courtney says she soon began to think about how she could expand the concept outside of the show.

“I felt like we were onto something. I kept thinking, this could be bigger than just our house,” she remarks. “To me, Moditerranean is all about merging the timeless charm of the Mediterranean design with a fresh, modern twist. But it’s more than a design style; it’s a vibe. It’s about creating spaces that feel relaxed and full of personality, where you can truly feel at home.

“As soon as filming wrapped in June, I gave myself one week to create the collection. I started sketching ideas, worked with my 3D designer and started the sampling process with our manufacturers. It came together so quickly—probably because we were still in that fast-paced Block mindset!”

In addition to walking away from The Block with $1.35 million, a new group of friends and a lifetime of memories, Courtney reveals that the show has been “a game changer” for her business.

“What started as a side hustle I worked on after hours has now become my full-time focus,” she explains. “The exposure from the show has been incredible, and the feedback on our collection has blown me away. Hearing people connect with our designs and materials—it’s honestly the most rewarding feeling.”

Courtney adds that she and Grant are “itching to get back into renovating” and taking on another project together, and they would return to The Block “in a heartbeat”.

“We had such an incredible experience, and I miss that sense of community with the Block family. There’s just something about The Block that pulls you back—it’s addictive!” she gushes.
