The Block fans have roasted Shelley Craft over some 'poor advice' she offered contestants Kylie and Brad over their black bedroom design. One particularly annoyed viewer took to Reddit to write, "Shelley is there to take the p**s and give crap designs hope so the judges can crap on something each week."

They continued, "By Shelly telling house 4 to go ahead with a black bedroom because 'No one has ever seen a black bedroom so [they] don't know' That's crap advice. Great for producers but poor advice. 'You have a vision stick with it' is more poor advice from Shelley because judging from the bathroom week their vision is terrible."

During the show, Kylie and Brad's dark aesthetic was copping flack from the judges, but Shelley encouraged the pair to continue with their vision.

"This is heavy, this is dark," Marty Fox said of Kylie and Brad's black bathroom. "If they continue this theme throughout the other rooms, this is going to be – possibly – the biggest disaster we've seen in 20 seasons."

"How do they know?" Shelley is later seen asking the couple. "Black can be beautiful, and black can be very sophisticated and black can also be very island, beachy. And so, you've got to go with your gut.

"And again, the judges are looking at one room, they're going, 'Oh, how is this going to work down here?' Now you've got to prove to them, that it is going to work and it is considered throughout the home, and I have not just done this on a random whim, this is what I'm going to tie throughout the home. So, you're backing yourself, and I think, you've got to give it a go."

"I do need to back it, because if I start changing it now, I'm going to get completely lost, and then I'll end up with – it just won't have any flow to it," Kylie said.

"You've got a vision, you've got to stick with it," Shelley agreed.

Host Scott Cam appeared somewhat uncomfortable during Shelley's pep talk, with one Reddit user responding to the original poster, "You could tell Scottie strongly disagreed with Shelley!"

"They've got a bathroom that looks like a 90's nightclub sh**ter... why not have a bedroom from a brothel?" another said.

"A black bedroom will look like some kind of seedy dominatrix dungeon, so maybe there is a market for it," a third agreed.

Not everyone agreed, however, with one Redditor saying, "Tbh, I'd rather a moody black bedroom than a black bathroom."

Instagram users were also on Kylie and Brad's side, with one person writing, "@shelleycraftofficial is the real MVP inspiring them to stick with the black 🔥."

"He is so negative 😡 I love the black, go with your gut girl," another said, referencing Marty's critique.

"I really hope she sticks to her plan," a third said. "I think it’s going to be amazing! Not everyone wants or needs bright vibrant colours."

It comes after a Facebook user described Shelley's role on the show as "the most useless job on television".

"Most of the time Shelley gives the contestants a reality check," one user responded. "She has renovated and is in real estate. Plus she has been on the show long enough to know what sells homes."

"She has the best job! I believe she does a lot more behind the scenes," another said. "Don’t underestimate Shelley."

"Shelley runs the challenges as well giving contestants the hard truth at times, I think she's great," a third added.

"She is lovely and probably does more than we see," a fourth responded.

"Oh man I’m a massive Shelly fan!" someone else said. "I think she balances Scotty out, not there enough to be annoying and brings some extra lightheartedness to our screens."
