The Amazing Race 2024 cast's eye-watering salaries have leaked
EXCLUSIVE: Here’s how much money each of this year’s celebrity contestants was paid.
The second season of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition kicked off last week with 11 star-studded teams racing around the world to try and win $100,000 for their chosen charity. Channel 10 spared no expense in signing up the all-star cast for the reality show, but not every contestant received the same payday.
Yahoo Lifestyle understands that the network had “just over $1 million” to split between the 11 competing pairs, and separated the talent into three pay brackets.
According to a TV insider, Ian Thorpe is believed to be the highest-paid contestant this season and received around $350,000. The former Olympian is competing alongside his long-time friend Christian Miranda, who had a feud with their co-stars Cyrell Paule and Eden Dally during Sunday night's episode.

Channel 10 personality Peter Helliar, who is set to star in the upcoming third season of Taskmaster Australia, is the second-highest-paid contestant and has been deemed a ‘top tier’ signing alongside Ian Thorpe.
Host Beau Ryan hinted that Peter was on “a few hundred [thousand]” during an interview on The Kyle & Jackie O Show last week.
Meanwhile, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Matildas teammates Chloe Logarzo and Emily Gielnik, former AFL star Billy Brownless, and martial artist Tai ‘Bam Bam’ Tuivasa are believed to be in the ‘second tier’ of talent, each taking home an estimated salary between $50,000 and $75,000.
Model Jett Kenny, comedian Luke McGregor, DJ Havana Brown, country signers Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, and reality TV couple Cyrell Paule and Eden Dally are said to have been in the lower paid bracket, taking home up to $50,000 each.
Yahoo Lifestyle’s TV insider claims that Cyrell and Eden were possibly able to negotiate higher than this as they were signed weeks before filming started after a previous pair dropped out. It’s believed that NRL legend Matty Johns and his son Cooper were originally cast on the show but pulled out at the last minute.
Beau Ryan's surprising salary
Beau revealed on The Kyle & Jackie O Show in 2021 that he was paid a whopping $800,000 to host the reboot of The Amazing Race Australia.
TV experts later clarified that this was ‘part of a multi-year deal’ with Channel 10, with Beau later competing on the 2022 season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
