Beau Ryan spent almost three months on the road whilst filming for the newest season of The Amazing Race last year for Channel 10 and it seems like it was a very fruitful trip with the host sharing his eye-watering salary for the show.
During an interview on KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show, the 35-year-old shared that he was paid $800,000 for his hosting duties.
"When you are getting paid for something, you look at the hours... How long are we working here?" he began explaining to the hosts.
"Is that what you do? Do you look at that with the Amazing Race and consider how long [you're away for]?" Kyle asked.
"Yeah... [I was away] for two and half to three months and I got paid $800,000," Beau said.
Beau recently shared he was genuinely scared for his life while doing some of the challenges for the show.
The productions staff "tested a lot of the challenges" before the contestants did them, Beau explained to The Daily Telegraph.
Before he would take part in the challenges, he would make farewell videos for his wife and children in case something might go wrong, especially when it came to challenges involving heights.
"We had a social phone we used to record stuff to put out on TenPlay and social media before we do some of the challenges," he said. "And I always did a farewell piece to camera for my wife and kids, like if something did happen to me and I didn't survive the abseil or the cliff dive."
"But I was doing these challenges every second day so there were about 50 farewell videos all up. Lucky for me I didn't have to use them," he added.
The Amazing Race is traditionally filmed around the world, but due to the pandemic was shot entirely in Australia with 28 contestants vying for the $250,000 prize.
