Sunrise's Natalie Barr barely recognisable on magazine cover: 'Wait what?'

Ahead of the three-year anniversary since she took over as host of Sunrise, Natalie Barr has graced the cover of the latest issue of Stellar Magazine looking barely recognisable.

The 55-year-old TV star took to Instagram on Thursday to share a sneak peek of the upcoming issue, for which she underwent a dramatic transformation.

The mother-of-two swapped her traditional breakfast TV style for high fashion with a one-shoulder textured black dress accessorised with sparkly drop earrings.

She is shown looking carefree on the magazine cover as if she was photographed mid-dance, with one hand in the air and her eyes looking towards the ground.

“Natalie Barr on owning it,” the text reads on the cover, alongside a quote that says, “I do feel confident, and that’s unusual for me. Because I’m the apologist”.

Natalie praised for 'hot as hell' photoshoot

The comments section was quickly flooded with compliments from Nat's followers, including her past and present Sunrise colleagues Melissa Doyle and Edwina Bartholomew.

“Wow wow wow,” The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies wrote, while her co-host Larry Emdur added, “WAIT !! WHAT ??? I’ve never met that Nat. Amazing cover”.

“Thought this was Celine Dion for a second!” one fan remarked, followed by someone else who said, “Oh my gosh, you look amazing. That photo must make you feel good Nat”.

“You definitely own it Nat,” a different user replied. “Sunrise without you is like the sky with no stars. You are truly breathtaking.” Meanwhile, others shared that Nat looks “stunning”, “incredible”, “gorgeous” and “hot as hell”.

Not every comment was positive, however, with Nat taking it upon herself to respond to the haters.

“Cannot stand her sarcastic comments,” one person wrote, to which Nat replied, “Yep sorry I do need to work on that”.

“No thanks. So boring!” another added, with Nat writing back, “Agree. I definitely am pretty boring.”

Nat’s magazine cover comes shortly after she lifted the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes of the breakfast show.

In a hilarious clip posted to the official Sunrise Instagram page, the Channel Seven host joked about some common misconceptions viewers might have.

“I work on TV, of course I take my hair out at the end of the day,” Nat said in the video before removing her hair extensions and showing them to the camera.

Fans of the show loved the video, with Aussie legend Dannii Minogue even commenting: “Love this”.

“Hilarious, you all make our day brighter,” another person wrote.
