Natalie Barr shares behind-the-scenes secrets from the Sunrise set

Life on a TV set might seem glamorous but Nat Barr has squashed those illusions in a new video.

It might seem like one of the most glamorous jobs in TV but Sunrise host Natalie Barr has lifted the lid on what really goes on behind-the-scenes on the morning show.

In a hilarious clip posted to the official Sunrise Instagram page, the Channel Seven host joked around about some common misconceptions viewers might have about them, with Nat whipping off her hair extensions on camera.

“I work on TV, of course I take my hair out at the end of the day,” Nat said in the video, removing her hair extensions and showing them to the camera.

Her co-host, Matt Shirvington was next up, running down the corridor as he shouted: “I work on TV, of course we run to the bathroom when we get the chance”

Mark Beretta was caught on camera wolfing into a hearty breakfast while saying: “I work on TV, of course I have three breakfasts before 9am”, while Edwina Bartholomew and Kylie Gillies both wearing green joked: “We work on TV, of course we’re not green with envy.”

Nat’s bold fashion choices

Since stepping into the role of Sunrise host three years ago, Natalie Barr has consistently impressed viewers with her fashion choices, often featuring pieces from popular Australian designers.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph in 2021, Nat revealed the bright outfits she wears on TV are very different to her normal style.

"My ‘real life’ involves a lot of black, navy and brown, but my 'Sunrise life' is all about colour, so I get to be a different version of me," she told the publication.

"It’s definitely a fun part of my job, and I particularly love wearing Australian brands."
