The Big Brother host asked Kochie if he wanted to have a little dance before he admitted he only knew how to do the Nutbush with his granddaughters.
Sonia then asked producers to turn up Lizzo's About Damn Time, and Kochie to amplify his hearing aids, as she attempted to teach them how to do the 'box' move.
Kochie struggled with the moves while Nat managed to keep up before Sonia began sliding and clicking.
The segment promoting Sonia as a Gold Logie nominee was brutally mocked online by viewers.
"We are really scraping the bottom of the barrel! If this is the best personality on Australian TV we need a major review," one wrote on Twitter.
"Just when you thought Sunrise couldn't get any worse they did," another said on Facebook.
"Grow up Sonia Kruger, she needs to act her age," a third added.
Sonia is vying for this year's TV Week Gold Logie alongside Home and Away's Ray Meagher, MasterChef judge Melissa Leong, Today host Karl Stefanovic, Hard Quiz host Tom Gleeson, LEGO Masters host Hamish Blake, and I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! presenter Julie Morris.
Sonia has been hosting a number of shows on Channel 7, including Big Brother, Holey Moley, Dancing with The Stars: All Stars and The Voice.
Sonia shocks with X-rated joke
When speaking with contestants David Rodan and his dance partner Alex Vladimirov about their skintight robotic bodysuits, the host pointed to the footballer's backside and joked, "This is where you insert the flash drive".
"Around the front, we have the hard drive," she added.
After receiving plenty of giggles from the other competitors, Sonia then took aim at judge Todd McKenney.
“Do you know Todd loves robots?” she said.
“He has one in his dressing room, it's called the Todd Bot 3000. How many speeds does it have, Todd?”
The Gold Logie will be announced during the red-carpeted event on June 19.
