Spoilers: Home and Away's Theo makes a heartbreaking decision

Last week on Home and Away, Roo Stewart’s (Georgie Parker) new student had her eye on Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) and the Parata family were shunned by Summer Bay.

This week, Theo Poulos (Matt Evans) makes a heartbreaking decision, Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman) isn't happy with life in the small town, and the Delaney siblings consider moving away.

While Kirby Aramoana (Angelina Thomson) and Theo’s forbidden romance starts off feeling exciting and sexy, their chemistry becomes obvious to their fellow Lyrik bandmates.

“Although they can’t keep their hands off each other, the band is by far the most important thing to them both, so they will keep their relationship secret for as long as they can,” Matt tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

It isn’t long before the band is encouraging Theo to hit on other women at Salt, to prove that he’s not still holding a candle for Kirby. In a strange twist of events, Kirby encourages Theo to kiss a complete stranger.

“Theo doesn’t kiss the girl at the bar, but he gets her number,” Matt reveals.

“However, the whole time he’s only doing it to protect the relationship with Kirby. He doesn’t want to be getting anyone’s number, he just wants Kirby.”

To protect his heart and keep the band together, Theo makes the decision to end the relationship. While it seems like it comes easily to the musician, the character is actually quite conflicted.

“The band is a dream to him. He has always wanted to be a musician and now he’s finally doing it, he can’t jeopardise that for anything,” he says.

However, the star isn’t ruling out the possibility of their romance rekindling down the line.

“I think that Theo is way too infatuated with Kirby to give up on her. She’s so cool to him. She’s a gorgeous musician and ticks all his boxes,” Matt spills.

Ziggy gets itchy feet

Fresh from the couple’s spontaneous surf trip, Ziggy struggles to return to her regular routine.

The quiet life in the bay isn’t everything Ziggy had hoped for her future, but her boyfriend Dean Thompson (Patrick O’Connor) isn’t able to provide anything exciting.

With Dean’s son Jai (River Jarvis) and board shop tying him down, Ziggy wonders if it’s impossible to follow her own dreams.

Admitting to Dean that she always envisioned travelling and competing in different surf competitions, he worries that he’s the one holding her back.

Will this be the end of the couple, or will they be able to find a compromise?

Rose and Xander plan their goodbyes

Rose Delaney (Kirsty Marillier) and Xander Delaney (Luke Van Os) were introduced on the soap as Jasmine Delaney’s (Sam Frost) siblings, but she has since left town and isn’t likely to come back.

After Rose’s feelings for Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) haven’t been reciprocated, and Xander has been struggling with his paramedic work, is there any real point in sticking around?

Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) has always exuded a mothering presence, and has constantly provided words of wisdom to younger Summer Bay residents.

Xander is hopeful that Irene will be able to convince Rose that there’s a reason to stay.
