Home and Away star's exciting career move: 'Dream come true'
Home and Away’s Matt Evans is most well known for his role as Theo Poulos, but he’s about to make a huge career move.
The star first shot to fame when competing on The Voice, and announced to fans that he's releasing music as a solo artist this year.
“I am working on music and it will be coming this year, for sure,” he said on Instagram. “I’m very excited, it’s about time!”
The star has a Bachelor of Music from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and previously worked as a music teacher.

Talking to Yahoo Lifestyle about his original music, he says he’s open to the idea of getting his songs on the show.
“I would love to! That could be a good idea. I would also like to put a single out and then try to do some things with it,” he says.
His current storyline on Home and Away involves his character fronting the new band Lyrik, meaning he’s able to combine his two passions.
Matt even hints that he may have had something to do with the band’s arrival in Summer Bay.
“I have been wanting to show my musical side from the moment I first stepped foot in the Home and Away studio. One of the first things I said to the producers and the storyline department was that I was really keen to bring music in wherever I can.
“Funnily enough, they listened to me. I feel very lucky,” he remembers.
At this stage, he’s not planning on completely throwing away his acting career to focus on music, though he admits that music is his ‘first love’.
“At the moment I’m really happy because I’m getting to do both, I’m getting to act and do some singing on the show, so that’s great,” he tells us.
“To combine both of these worlds is a dream come true.”
Fans have been supportive of Matt’s singing career, although some are worried he’ll leave the soap to pursue being a pop star.
“Home and Away is for you, please don’t ever leave or I will cry,” one fan wrote on social media.
“Awww, he will leave soon to progress his singing career,” another added sadly.
“Stay on Home and Away, you can do both,” a third chimed in.
