Seth Rogen’s ‘The Studio’ Drops Fake Trailer for Zombie Diarrhea Explosion Movie, Starring Johnny Knoxville and Josh Hutcherson

A group of Hollywood executives struggle to market a satire about zombies with explosive diarrhea in a new clip from Seth Rogen’s upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series “The Studio.”

The clip opens with the trailer for the movie, which is titled “Duhpocalypse” and is produced by the fictional Continental Studios. As a newscaster warns that “chaos has spread across the city” and that “officials are warning to shelter in place,” Johnny Knoxville and Josh Hutcherson are seen facing off against a zombie. “Oh shit — he’s dropping trou,” Knoxville says as the zombie turns around and pulls down his pants and shooting diarrhea all over Hutcherson.

“I got dooked! Does this mean I’m gonna die?” Hutcherson asks. “We all gotta die sooner or later, buddy, and you’re dying sooner,” Knoxville says, raising a sword against him.

The clip then cuts to a boardroom, where Kathryn Hahn informs everyone that movie theaters are refusing to play the trailer because of the diarrhea. Chase Sui Wonders and Ike Barinholtz panic about the necessity of the shot when Knoxville says, “Hold on now. Are we the point of the film in the comedy? We made a dark satire about medical disinformation, and I don’t want that to get lost.”

Playing studio chief Matt Remick, Rogen gets the final word: “No, itr’s true, but I definitely want that diarrhea explosion in the trailer.”

Premiering on March 26, “The Studio” was created by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory and Frida Perez. Executive producers include Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen on behalf of Point Grey Pictures. Lionsgate Television is the studio.
