Royal fans spot hidden detail in Queen Mary's Christmas tree snap: 'Beautiful'
The Australian-born royal has paid tribute to her roots.
Eagle-eyed royal fans have spotted a rather sweet detail in King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark’s Christmas decorations in Amalienborg, Frederik VIII’s palace in Copenhagen. A recent photo shared to the couple’s official Instagram account shows that the Tasmanian-born royal hasn’t forgotten her roots as she included an Australian-themed decoration on the Christmas tree.
Amongst coloured baubles and various festive-themed trinkets is a kangaroo ornament hanging on one of the branches. The animal is a clear nod to Mary’s heritage, as she was born and raised in Hobart and moved to Denmark before her marriage to Frederik in 2004.
