The latest season of Sesame Street might have fans in their feelings thanks to a certain guest star.

In the trailer for the children's program's 55th season, Reneé Rapp sings with the beloved Cookie Monster, Elmo and Abby Cadabby.

"Feelings are real so let them show," Rapp, 24, and the Muppets sing in the clip. "It's OK, there's a way to show your feelings." At another point, Elmo points out the healing power of music, saying it can help when someone "has all kinds of feelings."

Elsewhere in the trailer, the upcoming episodes will also feature artists SZA (who previously appeared on Sesame Street in 2024), Samara Joy (who belted out the iconic theme song), Noah Kahan and Chris Stapleton.

Rounding out the season 55 guest stars include Michael B. Jordan, Billie Jean King and Jonathan Van Ness.

Fans online were excited to see the Mean Girls star make an appearance in the trailer. "reneé rapp on sesame street im sobbing," one person wrote.

"i can’t to watch reneé sing and have fun with elmo and the rest of the crew on sesame street 🥹," a second commented. "Well, now I have big feelings," another said on Instagram.

Elmo is also excited about the music-focused lineup. “There’s a lot to learn from music — yeah, timing and harmonies and melody and different styles and different cultures,” he told the Associated Press.

The 55th season of Sesame Street will focus on expressing feelings, practicing mindfulness and building on resiliency, as per a press release.

The latest season announcement comes weeks after it was revealed that Sesame Street's fate may be up in the air. Warner Bros. Discovery did not renew the agreement to finance the classic children's program on Max, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

“It has been a wonderful, creative experience working with everyone at Sesame Street on the iconic children’s series and we are thrilled to be able to keep some of the library series on Max in the U.S.,” a spokesperson from Max, which has been Sesame Street's home since 2016, told the publication.

However, Sesame Street, which first premiered in 1969, will still have a future, even if it's not on Max.

“We will continue to invest in our best-in-class programming and look forward to announcing our new distribution plans in the coming months, ensuring that Sesame Street reaches as many children as possible for generations to come," a spokesperson for Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street, told THR.

Sesame Street season 55 premieres on Thursday, Jan. 16 and will drop new episodes weekly Max.
