Yahoo Lifestyle Heidi Klum Looks Completely Unrecognizable in Resurfaced Childhood Photo
While Heidi Klum is widely known these days as a model, talent competition show host and TV personality, she was also once just an ordinary kid.
The former America’s Got Talent judge reminded fans of this fact after seemingly spending some time digging through her photo archives last week. She posted one resurfaced snapshot that she indicated was taken more than 40 years ago—in the early 1980s—on Instagram on Feb. 6.
The grainy photo showed a completely unrecognizable Klum, now 51, as a young girl who wore her dark brown hair pulled back into a messy ponytail as she gazed directly at the camera. She was wearing a mustard yellow sweater with a light yellow or white collar, and was holding a gray cat with black markings in her arms at the time the photo was taken.
“Found this 🤪,” the mom of four wrote in her Instagram caption. The photo showed her at “10 years old with my cat Nicki,” she added. The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model, who grew up in Germany, did not specify exactly where or when the photo was taken aside from the note that she included about her age.
The photo stuck out as an unusual addition to an Instagram feed full of photos and videos showing Klum walking runways, posing for photographers at red carpet events and participating in professional photoshoots.
In the last few days, she has also shared several promotional videos for Germany’s Next Topmodel, the 20th season of which is slated to premiere on Thursday, Feb. 13.
Klum shared the childhood photo just a few days after stunning on the red carpet at the 2025 Grammy Awards, which she attended with her husband, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz. Klum played a pivotal role during one of the evening’s performances when she and comedian Nikki Glaser helped singer Benson Boone tear away his clothes for a speedy wardrobe change.
