Rebel Wilson has revealed that she’s “taking a break” from the dating scene, nine months after calling it quits with 30-year-old businessman Jacob Busch.
“I was doing a thing called ‘Hot Girl Summer’ - I heard about it in rap songs - and I was like, ‘This sounds fun,’” she told the publication. “[But] it wasn't really me. I’m a bit more of a conservative girl, normally.”
The 41-year-old also confirmed that she “did date a few people over the summer and had a really nice time”, but she’s currently single.
“From every relationship, you learn stuff all about yourself and what you're looking for,” she said. “I haven’t quite met my match just yet, but here's hoping.”
Rebel went on to admit that she deleted her profile from a dating app after receiving “too much attention” and hopes to meet someone “organically”.
“If there's a good social event or something, [and] I feel like there might be interesting people there, I'll make the effort to go,” she detailed.
“But at the moment, I'm taking a break and just trying to see if it happens organically in real life or through friend setups or something.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Rebel spoke about the type of man she’d be interested in dating when she’s ready to start seeing someone again.
“I mean, I love NFL players. Their brute strength and physicality? Awesome! But unfortunately, from my interactions, they're not the most faithful,” she said. “So that’s not good!”
Rebel revealed back in February that she and Jacob Busch had ended things, just four months after making their relationship red carpet official.
“Lots on my mind… Aghhhhhh… #single-girl-heading-to-Super-Bowl!” she captioned an Instagram post.
The Pitch Perfect star opened up about her ‘Year of Health’ and revealed the reasoning behind her intense lifestyle change.
“I was going through a fertility journey and it was better if I was healthier, and I kind of wanted to be healthier anyway,” she explained. “I struggled a lot with emotional eating.
“I’m proud of myself for improving my life for the better. It was hard work.”
