Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's surprising move after Kate Middleton's 'comeback'
"They're still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly reached out to Kate Middleton before she returned to public life at the Trooping the Colour ceremony last week. It was her first official engagement since she shared the news of her cancer battle earlier this year. Before this, her last public appearance was with her family on Christmas Day last year.
'Relieved and happy'
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not seen the Princess of Wales since she shared her health update with the world, Closer reports that they have attempted to extend an olive branch.

"Both Harry and Meghan have been following Kate’s recovery with huge interest, but sadly it’s had to be more from afar because their lines of communication with the palace and the Waleses, in particular, are very limited, to say the least," a source told the publication.
"They have had enough information to know that people are excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate and they’re both relieved and happy to hear that she’s on the mend and may soon be well enough to return to her duties."
While the couple have sent well wishes, the insider adds that "they're still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response," though this "hasn't stopped them from trying to connect".
"When Kate gets back into action, their hope is that it might take some of the heat off them and possibly trigger a truce with her and William, and with the King, too," the source adds.
'Desperate' to end the feud
Harry has visited the UK twice this year and saw his father, who is also battling cancer, on the first trip, but didn't see his brother or sister-in-law once.
While Meghan didn't join Harry for any of these trips, she is reportedly "desperate" to end the feud between them all.

"And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate — she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her," the source said. "Meghan has made it clear she’d love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone’s sake. She’s ready to let the anger and bitterness go."
Meghan is hopeful that her feelings about ending the feud have gotten to Kate through their mutual friends, however, the source adds that all she and Harry can do is "continue to reach out and hope for the best".
