Yahoo Lifestyle ‘He Should Resign!’: Jimmy Kimmel Says Trump Already Broke 1 Major MAGA Promise
Jimmy Kimmel said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump has “already done so many terrible deeds” in his first day back in the White House.
But there’s one thing he hasn’t done.
“It’s been 24 hours since he was sworn in, already Donald Trump has ended the war in Ukraine on day one, just as he promised he would,” Kimmel said. “Oh, he didn’t? He should resign then, right?”
Trump repeatedly vowed to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, saying he would do it within 24 hours of taking office or even before.
“I would fix that within 24 hours, and if I win, before I get into the office, I will have that war settled,” Trump said in 2023. “100% sure.”
He more recently said he hoped to get it settled within six months.
Kimmel said Trump’s promises are a decidedly mixed bag.
“We are in a very weird, precarious time in the history our country,” he said. “Half of us are worried Trump won’t do the things he promised. The other half are worried he will do those things.”
