What’s coming up for Sam Carver on Chicago Fire? –Carlynn
Anything fun coming up for Violet on Chicago Fire? –Ashley
“There’s a lot of drama coming up with the two of them,” showrunner Andrea Newman tells TVLine. “There’s a lot of repercussions that still are playing out from what happened at the end of last season when she pushed him away, basically. A lot [is going to] happen between the two of them as we head towards the end of the season. They’re trying to figure out where they’re at and where each of their emotional lives are at and how they can connect — if they can connect.”

I don’t think we will see Brett return any time soon on Chicago Fire, but I was wondering if there’s a chance the writers will include a reference to how she’s doing later this season. I’m sure Violet and Stella are still in contact with her. –Ingmar
“It’s so funny because we never think of these characters [Brett and Casey] as gone,” showrunner Andrea Newman responds. “Yes, she and Casey are invoked a bunch in the future.”
Any news on Apple TV+’s For All Mankind Season 5. Will it come out by the end of the year? –Rich
I really worked the proverbial phones for you on this one, Rich, but there remains absolutely nothing to report or even tease.
As a 2 Broke Girls fan, I was glad to hear that Garrett Morris will be on The Neighborhood with Beth Behrs. Any details on his role? –Marion
Morris will pop up as Jasper, the longtime owner of The Yippedy-Dip, a charmingly run-down sandwich shop that Calvin’s father used to bring him to as a child. Jasper will send Calvin on a trip down memory lane, but yes, he will also share a scene with Behrs’ Gemma. Bonus scoop: Cedric Yarbrough (The Goldbergs) will guest-star in a different episode as a seeeeemingly enthusiastic customer at the Fuse Box — though we come to learn he actually has a hidden agenda….
When will the new doctor on Chicago Med, who is likely to be Caitlin’s love interest, make an appearance? –Inês
If you’re talking about Brendan Hines’ Dr. Hayes, who was introduced in the Jan. 22 episode, we’ve got good news: “We will see Dr. Hayes again, and there’s more to come between Dr. Hayes and Dr. Lenox,” showrunner Allen MacDonald says. The EP notes that Lenox is a “tough personality” who has “a shield up a lot,” but “sometimes there are little cracks, and [the Jan. 22 episode] was one of those times. It’s like, ‘Oh, she is interested in possibly a romantic side or, at least, feels that sometimes,’ because she’s so closed off a lot of the time.”
Any update on The Good Daughter? I’m a big Karin Slaughter fan. –Sam
Production on the Peacock adaptation starring Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy will start sometime this year.
Why are the characters on NBC’s Found immediately believing what Trent’s new lady is saying about Christian, when no one really knows her? –Ivan
When last we tuned in, Gabi seemed to be smelling a rat — which means that Heather’s jig, whatever it may be, will probably soon be up. “Secrets don’t stay hidden long on this show,” Brett Dalton, who plays Trent, noted when TVLine’s Kimberly Roots asked about the Heather sitch this morning at Atlanta’s SCAD TVfest. “We do a pretty good job of reading each other and other people, so while there may be a whole bunch of secrets, and big secrets, they always seem to come out.”
Is there any news on when NBC’s That’s My Jam will return? It was renewed for Season 3 last year, and I just wanted to make sure it was still going on. –Fiona
Sources tell me that with Jimmy Fallon being ever busier, That’s My Jam is in “pause mode” for the time being.
The Rookie‘s Alexi Hawley said last year that we may get a UC storyline that involves both Lucy and Nyla. Is there anything that can be teased? –Francesca
I followed up for you on that (old) interview, asking showrunner Hawley if Lucy, for one, would be going undercover in Season 7, and he affirmed, “No, not this season.” For one, “undercover episodes are tough, because how do you do something unexpected?” he noted. “In the traditional undercover episode, you go in deep and then something goes wrong and we’ve got to pull you out — and we’ve done a lot of those.” Plus, as you’ve seen, Lucy is now busy learning the TO ropes. “Undercover is still important to Lucy, but you see her step up to become a training officer, at least temporarily, so that’s a new challenge for her that we lean into.”
Any scoop or a premiere window for The Hunting Wives at Starz? –Patrick
Filming on Season 1 wrapped way back in June, but there is still not even a rough timetable for the series, which stars Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, Chrissy Metz, Jaime Ray Newman and Katie Lowes.
My question is regarding Jake and Amy from Doc. Will we be seeing any progression in their dynamic? And how will Amy react when she learns that they were together? –Mel
As hinted this week, we will absolutely see a progression in the Jake/Amy story very soon — just hold on a little bit (pssst, a few days) longer. Bonus scoop: There’s also a big episode coming up where we will get to better contextualize Sonya’s feelings of anger and resentment toward Amy, which was also on my personal Doc wish list.
Are Bode and Gabriela done on Fire Country? I hope not. –Michael
Bode seems to be all about Audrey at the moment — though he absolutely does have a reaction when Jake this Friday feels compelled to spill the beans about his and Gaby’s recent hook-up.
Can you please leak the full Blue Bloods finale (7-day or 30-day) multiplatform numbers? –NewsJunkie
Blue Bloods‘ Dec. 13 series finale, which had an overnight audience of 5.9 million total viewers, wound up amassing a 35-day multiplatform audience of 11 million.
Any scoop for my favorite show, NCIS: Origins? –Dennis
It looks like big episode is on the horizon for Cliff Wheeler, seeing as the freshman CBS drama is busy casting both the SAC’s wife and the couple’s rebellious, mullet-rocking, GnR-loving son.
What happened to Marc Cherry’s Jenny Is a Weapon? Last time there was news about this was in… 2022, I believe, and it’s been crickets since. –Marvin
I asked around and learned that, at this time, Fox is not pursuing the series, which in fall 2022 scored a script commitment with an eye toward a straight-to-series pickup.
