MasterChef star slams Curtis Stone after controversial move: 'Going to take me a long time to forgive him'
Sue Bazely has opened up about her elimination from MasterChef Australia.
Sue Bazely has opened up about her elimination from MasterChef Australia 2024, sharing a video to Instagram that she filmed the morning after her exit from the cooking competition. The Customer Manager from Victoria was sent home after a pressure test set by Curtis Stone, just as she was starting to find her stride in the kitchen.
In the video, Sue shares her disappointment at how her final cook went and her feelings toward Stone as well as offering words of encouragement and advice to anyone who wants to chase their dreams. The mother of two said during her final challenge that her motivation for joining the competition was to show her kids that anything is possible.
"Well I've just had my first night back from my MasterChef experience in my own bed at home," Sue begins her video. "Everybody's asleep and I've come outside with a cup of coffee in my little garden to contemplate the whole experience. I haven't had an opportunity to really think and although I'm immensely disappointed with going out on a cook like the one I did and I've been going over in my head if only I did this or did that or didn't do this or didn't do that I would still be there this morning."

Sue goes on to say that while all of the amazing things she learned and experienced in the competition outweighed the bad she still felt really sad as she had "way more left in the tank."
"I think there's a really important message for anybody who may have been like me wanting to participate in a competition like MasterChef, dream about food all the time, want to change a career, whatever it might be, I think jump in the deep end and go for it. No regrets whatsoever," she says.
Sue concludes the video by saying, "It's been a wild ride and I loved all of it except the cook with Curtis. It's going to take me a long time to forgive him for that but um yeah it's a brilliant, brilliant experience so go for it if you in the slightest feel that burning ambition it's well well worth it."
While we are sure Sue was just poking some lighthearted fun with her jab at Curtis, we can't help but feel a bit sad that she didn't threaten to SUE him for his actions.
Fellow MasterChef contestants show support
Her post was met with words of encouragement from some of her fellow MasterChef competitors, such as Snezana Calic who wrote, "So beautifully expressed, Sue. I know it's really hard! But you should be incredibly proud of what you've achieved. You've had an amazing journey in the MasterChef kitchen, loved by all the contestants and crew. I'm excited to see what your next adventure will be. Well done, Sue."
Alex Crisp, who narrowly avoided elimination in the Curtis Stone challenge wrote, "YES SUE!!! The only way to find out how strong you are is to jump into the deep end. So proud of you for chasing your dreams and making them reality. I have learned so much from you and consider you one of my dearest friends. I hope you take that burning desire from this kitchen and into the real world. I'm so certain you are onto amazing things out there. Can't wait to follow you on your next epic food journey. Fans lament lack of screen time for Sue
Viewers were certainly sad to see Sue leave the MasterChef kitchen, taking to social media to share their disappointment at her edit after the episode aired.
"Sue is gone, and it's a shame she's had the edit she's had. Unfortunately, this show completely under edits people at times, and this year, Sue was on the receiving end. It's a shame as hers is an important story to tell - reinventing yourself later in life," one fan wrote on X.
"Sue, we hardly knew ye... cos of sh*t editing. But you did good," said another.
"Sue had the toughest edit in MC history. Bye Sue," a third wrote.
