MasterChef fans took to social media on Monday night to share their surprise at a challenge set by judge Poh Ling Yeow. Poh curated the Everything Mystery Box to include some of her favourite ingredients.

However, this time, the catch is that contestants need to use every single ingredient to create a dish to wow the judges. Inside the box, there was a spatchcock, Sichuan pepper, baby mandarins, Chinese celery, galangal (a relative of ginger, but milder, citrusy, and floral), and sesame snaps.

"I've been dreading this challenge since day one," Darrsh said of the challenge. "My worst nightmare has come true."

"It's the biggest stitch-up of the competition, 100 per cent," Nat adds.

"This box is absolutely 🔥🔥🔥," one Instagram fan wrote.

"Wow. Good luck everyone," another added.

"Sometimes I look at these challenges and think I would probably just cry and eliminate myself," one Reddit user joked. "I would just be in a corner crying and rocking myself, and the producers would be like… just let them leave."

"I actually cheered when they said they have to use everything in the box. I love it when they challenge them like this," another said.

"Yeah, me too! I also agree with Mimi's point that 'everyone uses the same crayon in the box.' So, in this challenge, everyone uses the same ingredients, but it's all about how creative each contestant is with them," a third agreed. "I really like this challenge!"

In the end, Harry, Sav and Darrsh ended up in the bottom three and will cook in an elimination challenge tonight.

Pezza's spatchcock cabbage rolls were a judge's favourite, Poh even came close to tears as she told him he should be proud of how far he's come.

"If you keep cooking like this, you never know where you'll end up," Andy Allen said. "You may just end up lifting that trophy. And that's the ultimate prize."
