MAFS detail most fans missed leaves 2025 cast furious
MAFS hasn't even started yet but the drama has already kicked off with some of the cast feeling "set up to be hated".
The new season of Married At First Sight is still a couple of weeks away from premiering on Channel Nine, but the cast are already furious with their portrayals – surprisingly not on the show though, but in their official bios which were released this week.
Yahoo Lifestyle understands several of the brides believe they’re being “set up to be hated” by the network, all thanks to the producers' use of certain adjectives to describe them.
While some of the brides are described as “bubbly, bright and caring”, others are referred as “outspoken, fiery and loud with extremely high standards”, with those brides worried that fans will have a negative first impression of them.

A show source says: “The bios are the first real glimpse of how they’re going to be portrayed and many of the cast are still living in denial, believing they were angels throughout the experiment and never did anything wrong. Even now reading how they’re described, some of them aren’t ready to have a mirror held up to them.
“There’s a group chat with many of them complaining to each other that the network is showing favouritism, accusing publicists of being ‘out to get them’, and even saying bosses are being misogynistic by how they describe the women.”
The cast announcement on Monday also hinted at behind-the-scenes drama with some participants, with many fans pointing out that grooms Jake and Tim’s official headshots were not from a photoshoot like the others, and appeared to be lower-quality images taken on location while filming their weddings.
Yahoo Lifestyle’s insider confirmed this was true, adding “neither attended the cast’s press day” when the photoshoot took place.
Fans react to the 2025 MAFS cast
The cast announcement was met positively by fans, with many people happy that a lot of the brides and grooms are a little older this year, as well as praising the fact that there are more "real" looking people in the cast (as opposed to people who have already made careers out of being influencers).
