MasterChef Australia fans have been left shocked after seeing a video of the totally different US version of the show. MasterChef Australia is known as the 'nice' reality show that people enjoy watching because there's very little drama (and it's one of the few shows on Aussie screens that features real diversity, so that's another win!).

"Has anyone here watched any other version other than AU? Just saw this clip on TikTok and I can't even imagine the Aussie contestants acting even a little like this on TV 💀," one Reddit user wrote, sharing a video of a fight between two contestants on the American version.

In the video, Ahran Cho and Leslie Gilliams get into a screaming match while working on a team challenge together.

Things start off badly between the pair when Leslie mispronounces Ahran's name as 'Iran', and they later begin screaming at each other over a misunderstanding in the kitchen.

"Leslie, you need to stop yelling OK?" she tells him. "You're not helping our team at all right now!"

"You're wasting a lot of time," he tells her.

"You have no communication skills at all," she later tells him.

"Can I say something, or are you just gonna jump in every time because you're an 18 year old and that's what you do?" Leslie responds. "You can disrespect me all you want okay? Because that's what teenagers do. OK, so grow up and grow some balls!"

"Leslie! You're 56, she's 18, don't compare with her!" another contestant tells him.

Leslie then offers a sarcastic apology, to which Ahran yells back, "You're not sorry at all!"

While the pair clearly didn't get along during this period, they soon bonded after Leslie became friendlier with the group and would later go on to share a similar bond to a father and daughter.

Other Reddit users shared their surprise at the clip, with one user writing, "WOW! I haven't watched anything else but the AU version, so this is a complete shock to me."

"[I'll] never watch American MasterChef again as those producers just love to hike up the drama," another wrote.

"OMG 😳 I think I've always just watched MasterChef AU and have been completely oblivious to other MasterChef shows," a third said.

"That's horrific," someone else added. "I've watched the Brazilian version, which has a ton of problems, and some drama, but nothing like this."

"MasterChef US has nothing to do with cooking," another said. "It's just another vehicle for reality show drama and cattiness."

"I started with Masterchef US before I discovered AU. What a night and day difference," one Redditor said. "They're so loud, so trashy, unkind, disrespectful. Basically every man for himself (I should've managed my expectations, it's US after all). And the sob stories, SO MANY, ALL THE TIME. Everyone has one at great length."

"Masterchef US encourages this kind of drama. It’s not a kind show, and the best home cooks would definitely stay away," someone else shared. "From what I’ve heard of the auditions - the producers choose personalities that will clash and encourage certain personas. Cooking is not the focus at all."

They continued, saying the show is like "pure poison," adding, "Wish they’d learn that the world loves MasterChef Australia because it’s a big bowl of comfort that promotes kindness, cooperation and really good food.

"The world has enough toxicity and drama. I need my food shows to be a warm hug."

It's not the first time Redditors have praised the Aussie version, recently, in a thread about how nice the show is, one user said, "I remember one FINALE episode pressure test where one contestant was struggling to operate some kind of kitchen tool. The other contestant literally left their bench and went over to show them what to do. I find it really lovely."

"Yes, and that is what makes it glorious. I'm American and I come here specifically to get away from American cooking competitions!" another fan shared. "I work in a Junior High. There is enough rudeness and incivility in my life every day! I watch Masterchef UK and Aus to restore my faith in humanity. I'm also Canadian and unsurprisingly Canadian Masterchef splits the difference between the two."
