The MAFS couples will be moving in together on tonight's episode, with the show promising even more drama to come. The contestants will be deepening their relationship further in a studio apartment at Skye Suites Sydney.
However, for some couples, the small studio apartments could spell disaster. Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon ended the first dinner party with tears and tension, while Claire Nomarhas and Jesse Burford haven’t recovered from their explosive honeymoon.
In addition to this, a number of the participants were unhappy with how tiny the accommodation was. Some of the cast are used to the high life and complained to producers about the cramped quarters.
“Dan, Melinda and Layton all have money and live a life of luxury back in the real world, so it was a real shock for them especially now squashing into a regular studio apartment,” a source tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
“There was quite a bit of moaning and requests for bigger accommodation — but they were told this wasn’t possible. Layton even asked if he could have a parking spot to bring his Porsche, but was told all the spots were [reserved] for production.”
Our insider also spilled that Layton would head home most weekends to bring his car into the city to use when the cameras weren’t rolling.
Channel Nine 'furious' after MAFS stars spoil ending: 'Over it'
This comes after Yahoo Lifestyle revealed how Channel Nine have warned contestants to stop leaking spoilers and adhere to their contracts.
A source told Yahoo Lifestyle the network is “furious” with Dan for ruining his entire storyline.
“Dan had some very angry phone calls from production and publicists and he was made an example of to other cast members,” the insider said.
“They’ve all been reminded about the contracts they signed and how they have to play the part until their relationships ends on screen.”
Our source added that the cast are “over it”, as the contestants don’t want to “keep their lives on hold”.
