MAFS' Lucinda's touching tribute to Timothy leaves fans emotional: 'Incredibly proud of you'

And just like that, Married at First Sight Australia is over for another year. The 11th season of the series concluded Monday night with the second part of the reunion as the couples looked back on their time in the experiment...and continued to sling insults at one another. While there was plenty of drama to be had (as always) there was one couple who made us believe in the power of MAFS - even though they aren't romantically involved.

Taking to the couch to reflect on their 'journey', Lucinda Light and Timothy Smith were the picture of friendship with Lucinda saying, "I love Tim, he's the best. We just have a laugh and we've shared so much and I think we understand each other. I just feel happy."

Added Timothy, "I look back on the experiment and I look back at our time and I've said to you before - I wouldn't actually have wanted to have done the experiment with anyone else."

He continued, "We still talk every couple of days, we're pretty on track. It's amazing."

As their fellow participants got visibly teary, Mel asked if there was hope for the pair with Timothy replying, "For sure, yep, I always said it wasn't the ending of something but the beginning of something."

While the two are just friends at the moment, it's safe to say we are all keeping our fingers crossed that these two cuties develop a romantic relationship in the future.

Lucinda's sweet message for Timothy

Following the reunion, Lucinda took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to her on-screen husband, commending him for how far he has come since their TV wedding.

"Dear Timbo," she began, "That’s a wrap! What a blast! What I adore most about you Tim is your ability to bring laughter to those around you, even amidst your own pain and loss. Your bravery throughout our time together has been awesome! You opened up your vulnerable side, showing men everywhere that it's not okay to bottle it up! Despite your 'Tin Man' facade, I see the enormous heart you carry."

Paying respects to Tim's late family members, she continued, "I'm incredibly proud of you, and I'm sure your mum Varee and brother Dave would be too, looking down on you from up above. You've shown true courage and authenticity & you’re a legend. Too many men suffer in silence, and it's time we changed that paradigm. We need to celebrate men who are open-hearted and willing to show their emotions. That’s the new SEXY!"

The Byron Bay celebrant concluded her message writing, "I've witnessed you take tremendous strides in our journey together, and I hope you continue on your path of healing. True redemption and inner peace come from letting go, forgiving, and allowing love to flow freely. I believe in you, Timbo, and I know that a wonderful woman awaits you for a joyous journey ahead. Here whenever you need an ear.

'Such a gem'

While comments are still disabled on the MAFS cast's Instagram accounts, the endearing post was shared in MAFS fan group on Facebook, with viewers commending Lucinda for her warmth and the way she has helped Timothy through his trauma

"This is soooo true," one person wrote. "Bless her she really inspired us all to be better people."

"Absolutely love her. She is the one in 1 million gem," someone else added.

"She was awesome - loved her and Cass. and am glad they (Tim and Lucinda) are friends “with possibility” but man she put in the hard work- if they ain’t into you, they ain’t into you - the woman has infinite energy."

Over on Twitter, there was plenty of praise for Lucinda as well with one person writing, "I think #Lucinda is such a lovely woman. So kind, so caring & loved by all."

Lucinda officially launches new career venture

While her MAFS experience may not have ended with finding true love, Lucinda certainly found an adoring public who have been calling to see more of the 43-year-old MC and wedding celebrant.

Having become the first season 11 cast member to hit over 200,000 followers on Instagram, Lucinda has now introduced a new service on her website called ‘Lucinda Light Tribe’.

The subscription-based portal is described as “a nurturing space where Lu can prioritise your emotional well-being, relationships, and communication skills often overlooked in our busy lives”.

For $27 a month, subscribers will receive access to bi-monthly Zoom calls, a monthly newsletter with her “thoughts, musings and latest creations”, news on upcoming events and retreats, giveaways and discounts on merchandise, and resource recommendations for your “healing journey”.

This comes after a media insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that there is currently a “bidding war” between major podcast networks to sign Lucinda exclusively to host her own show, with many voiceover agencies also keen to sign her as an audiobook narrator.
