MAFS' Lucinda Light tipped to join the show as an expert: 'She deserves this'

The Byron Bay celebrant is allegedly making a huge career move.

Lucinda Light has undoubtedly been the breakout star of this season of Married At First Sight Australia, with audiences falling in love with her warm-hearted nature and one-of-a-kind personality.

While it's yet to be revealed whether or not the Byron Bay celebrant found her soulmate on the show, she may have found an amazing new career opportunity with whispers that she could be heading back to the franchise - but to the other couch.

An insider has exclusively told Yahoo Lifestyle that Lucinda has been offered the role of 'Relationship Expert' on New Zealand's version of Married At First Sight, saying: "Her role on the overseas franchise won't be officially announced until after Easter but an offer has been put on the table."

They continued: "Channel Nine were hoping to keep this under wraps until after the season finishes as they prefer to keep the contestants as real and relatable as possible. However, no one's more happy for Lucinda than the creators of MAFS. She deserves this."

If the rumour proves to be true it's expected that audiences will feel exactly the same way given how much fans of the show adore her.

"The popularity of Lucinda has been unprecedented and with a failed marriage to Melbourne-based Timothy unfolding over the last week, offers have been coming in from all over the shop," the source detailed.

"The world is her oyster and her co-stars have attributed her popularity to the humble nature she demonstrated throughout filming the season."

There is certainly something pretty magical about Lucinda and the expert role, if it comes to fruition, could be the perfect fit. She has a lot of wisdom to pass on and, having worked as a wedding celebrant and emcee, has some authority in the space.

It has been rumoured that most of the season 11 cast were turning to Lucinda for advice over experts Alessandra Rampolla, Mel Schilling and John Aiken, with the source revealing that even Timothy has his former wife on speed dial and is continuously seeking her approval.

As for what Lucinda's addition to the MAFS cast could mean for the existing experts, there is nothing to worry about according to the source.

"There have been rumours that Mel Schilling could be ending her role as Relationship Expert at the end of this season, but that isn't true," they said.

"Mel is contracted to the Channel Nine show for another year at least and while she has had some health issues she is getting through this."

The popular dating coach is currently in London with commitments to the UK version of the experiment.

"If Lucinda proves herself in New Zealand I think all of the current experts should be worried," the source jokingly said.

Surprising claim about Timothy and Lucinda's relationship

The news of Lucinda's potential career move comes after a different insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that Lucinda and Timothy were originally expected to fail fairly quickly and it was planned that they would leave the show early on.

"That (Timothy and Lucinda's relationship) was always planned to fall apart after Collins and Natalie but producers changed their minds when they realised Lucinda was TV gold and continued to coordinate that relationship behind the scenes to keep them in the experiment as long as possible," the source said.

"Everyone on set fell in love with Lucinda and that is why Channel Nine changed their minds on them leaving the experiment second. Keeping Lucinda and Timothy was a conscious decision and it took some real work behind the scenes.

"She is a genuine soul and someone quite unique. It is no wonder we moved things around to keep her and Timothy for as long as possible."
