MAFS' Jacqui involved in 'cheating scandal' that leaves producers 'furious'

Following complaints from Married At First Sight fans that they were left “underwhelmed” by Adrian Araouzou and Sierah Swepstone’s ‘cheating’ storyline in Sunday night’s episode, it’s been leaked that another bride will find themselves in a much more explosive scandal this season.

So Dramatic! has revealed that Jacqui Burfoot, 29, has moved on with one of this year’s intruder grooms Clint Rice, 45, who is set to marry returning bride Lauren Hall in Tuesday night’s episode. Daily Mail has also reported that Jacqui’s partner Ryan Donnelly was left “blindsided” by her affair with the former pro golfer-turned-businessman, and the romance has “thrown the entire season into disarray”.

“Producers are furious. This completely ruins Clint and Lauren's wedding episode,” a source told the publication. “Viewers haven't even seen them get married yet, and now they already know Clint ends up with Jacqui.”

A production insider tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Jacqui and Clint grew close towards the end of filming but didn’t get together until after the season wrapped.

While many previous MAFS ‘cheating scandals’ fizzled out after the show, things appear to be going strong for the controversial couple. Jacqui has already quit her job and packed up her life in Sydney and is now living with Clint in Tasmania as they start a new life together.

“Neither of them are making any secret of their relationship and have been flaunting it on their socials,” our source shares. “The entire cast knows about it and they’ve since been iced out of the group.”

The insider adds that Jacqui and Clint will shock everyone when they arrive at the reunion together, similar to Ellie Dix and Jono McCullough last season.

Jacqui and Ryan already spoiled their storyline

Although some fans might have hoped that Jacqui and Ryan would work things out on the show, the pair had already revealed that they are no longer together.

The former Miss New Zealand confirmed in a rogue Instagram Story last week that things didn’t work out between them and she’s currently in a relationship with someone who is “exactly what [she] asked for”.

“Someone kind, considerate, a great man, and intelligent,” she detailed. “Sometimes miracles happen because today I am in fact happy and in a loving long-term relationship!”

Meanwhile, a fan of the show revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that she had met Jacqui’s ‘husband’ Ryan at a rave at The Ivy in Sydney on December 27 and they spent the evening flirting.

“Ryan walked up to me, started chatting to me and we were dancing,” she recalled. “He then added me on Instagram and slid into my DMs later on at like 3am, but it wasn’t from his main account, it was a burner account. We were talking but it just fizzled out then a few weeks later I found out he was on MAFS.

“That night he offered to buy me drinks and stuff and he was commenting on my Instagram Story [afterwards], so I don’t think he’s with Jacqui anymore because of how he was behaving.”
