Married At First Sight’s male participants were left outraged during Tuesday night’s episode when Ryan Donnelly made some controversial remarks about his partner Jacqui Burfoot. The 36-year-old groom and self-proclaimed warrior told his co-stars during an intimacy workshop hosted by Alessandra Rampolla that Jacqui has “crazy eyes” but is good at performing a particular sexual act.

Alessandra was baffled by the crude declaration and the fact Ryan would repeat Jake Luik’s previous comment about Jacqui’s appearance, which he made during the photo ranking challenge last week and was called out for at the first commitment ceremony.

While viewers will have to wait until Wednesday night’s dinner party to see Jacqui’s reaction to Ryan’s divulgence on the show, the outspoken bride has already shared her thoughts in a rogue post on social media. Jacqui took to her business account on Tuesday to reveal that she immediately forgave Jake for saying she has “crazy eyes” but it was edited out of the episode.

“I was told from multiple sources that Jake didn’t start the crazy eyes comment - it was an inside joke someone else was making,” she wrote. “When we were all at the CC, before I knew what was said I yelled out and said I didn't want to hear it (if you've got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all).

“As we saw, Ashleigh [Ackerman] went ahead anyway. I straight away said ‘Oh I don't care, my eyes probably are crazy no stress, I forgive you Jake’.”

Jacqui went on to say that Jake was “almost in tears” and “genuinely full of remorse” for his comments about the other brides.

“I felt really bad for him and felt like there was more to the story that we didn't hear. I was quite uneasy and my gut felt like something was off, but Jake left the next day and I never heard anything from either of them again,” she added.

Jacqui later shared a follow-up post addressing Ryan’s explicit comment about their sex life, admitting that her biggest issue with the situation was that none of the brides told her before the dinner party.

“Why has no one had the respect and decency to check in with me at this point? Everyone is gossiping like children and I'm humiliated,” she wrote.

“Men, I wish you stood up to that ‘locker room chat' on the spot. Dave [Thomas] thank you for realising that! Jamie [Marinos], I love you, but I wish [you] came to me tonight as well. Next, as a matter of privacy and respect, I'd appreciate if this is dealt with in private. I feel ashamed and disappointed right now.”

Jacqui’s Instagram Stories come shortly after she shared a lengthy post slamming the way she’s been portrayed on TV and said that viewers are seeing a “a highly edited fictional storyline”.

“I agree - my character makes no sense - that's not my fault - blame the editors! More than happy to spill the tea so you can get to know the real me and my story!” she wrote. “I signed up for an unfiltered raw, real marriage experiment / aka documentary. I am fully in this for a life partner - taking it seriously, but having heaps of fun, laughter & playing up for the camera (a tiny bit)!”

She also said she’s currently in a relationship with someone who is “exactly what [she] asked for”, adding: “Sometimes miracles happen because today I am in fact happy and in a loving long-term relationship!”
